On sunday I was out and saw a family group. They are aquaintences rather than friends.The grandson of about 14 was wearing a Liverpool shirt. The grandfather quickly told me he had put on £100 for us to be relegated (hes a supposed Saints fan) and excused himself by saying that if he did so we wouldnt go down.But he had just been bragging that he did so in our relegation season and had bet at I think he said 50-1. That was bad enough but then I overheard him in conversation about saints in general and the grandson piped up I hope Saints do go down. Well a kid born in Southampton wishing for the local team to be relegated got me going, and so I butted into their conversation and asked him how many times he'd been to Anfield. Never was his reply. Realising that I had heard the conversation it was backtracking time and of course the grandparents etc said that he didnt mean it. I dont understand the mentality of the kids thoughts, whats wrong with people?

LC (I should have put Wilde bunch, as to be fair it was just him)imo went and spent to get us to the PL. That would have overcome a lot of our financial worries had it worked.It was a gamble and sadly came up red like our bank balance. It was then when we had overstrateched too far that the accelleration to now happened.

As has been shown by others over the years our most successful signings have invaribly been our cheapest and best and our most expensive the most disappointing. Delap, McCann,Delgado, Rudi. This whole debate stems from how you view the best way of getting out of the financial mess.LC threw money at it in the gamble it would be black and not red, wheras RL is more cautious and cuts the cloth accordingly.I myself am careful in business and so take the RL route. Many others spend up to their credit card limit and get car loans, bank loans etc etc and have a good time but sooner or later they have to face the fact of paying up.
