  1. enjoy while you can.Its a long time before you will be back.
  2. dont try that one, you had made an a### of yourself and are now trying to make out you were kidding.
  3. Alot have moved to free forums. It says a lot about them more than this site. They'll be back.
  4. dont even go there. We dont want the others thankyou.
  5. The arguement is not about the standard but numbers. We all have our own idea about who is good and who is bad. Many thought that little fat lad from Liverpool was the bees knees but I didnt. Its all opinion. I agree Makin was mainly a full back but so was Baird.
  6. I would think it is hard to say as we dont know how many neutrals or Man u fans have taken advantage of the tickets on ticketmaster. Im amazed that it happend as crowd control must be an issue. Only £15 a ticket that is strange, id have thought it would have been at least £30
  7. funny how you return to abuse when you see that you have put up a comment that can be rightly scoffed at. Now forward us the proof that GB was a drunken f###wit. You can't as only reveryt to that because you are on soft ground. As for those 3 results there is no excuse for any of them and the players should be ashamed to have been part of those defeats. Both managers need criticism but it would show that however much you shout and scream from the sidelines it means Sweet FA when the players have crossed the line if they dont care.
  8. When you had an international centre half the experienced Makin , Powell and a loan from a PL side that is adequate. We had many players in and out.I havent got a list of players out in the first few months of his tenure but many were midfielders and so some had to be replaced. NP did well with his 2 loan CB's and Webster in turn got the club to get RW through a lot of hard talking.
  9. I find it amusing when fans talk about the money spent, none ever factor in the job he was given in respect of getting rid of over 20 players who were deadwood or high earners. If you lose 20 players you would obviously have to replace some on lower wages and so duck and dive and wheel and deal to replace and try and keep it to a good standard. The following season he lost 3 of the best players and also had a jinxed set of centre backs. He siad he expected a mid table finish and was heading that way, until the internatioal job came up. NP did ok but lets see how he does this season with a big budget and strong squad.
  10. What a ridiculous statement. I dont see you calling for more this season, Killer has come back from inkury do we go and get another just in case, 2 of our keepers have had long layoffs and so we'd better get another 2. When the squad was assembled last season the medical professionals assuered the club that Powell and CLaus would be fit, we also had Makin Bennett on Loan.4 players covering the same position. We then got Thomas when the injuries showed up to be worse and then of course Davies.
  11. Thats not the point, but the club has been reckless. They have had Anderton on their books for a few seasons, he doesnt come cheap. If you are a small supplier you dont need bad debts however a small a club they are selling to.
  12. Dont be ridiculous how many centre backs or players for any position do you think we need?
  13. Considering he had 13-14 games to get us safe , I do think he was responsible. Like GB/D&G they are all gone and its time to move on.
  14. Fergusons and Cloughs name were brought in by my as an example of managers who are siad to like a drink but were successful. WGS lost interest when Bridgey was sold.He said at the time that as soon as you get close to the big clubs they buy your best players. GB suffered the same and it does sag the morale.
  15. was he the lone Ranger we had at the club?
  16. Is it not the case of a riot by them trying to get out What's the situation regarding sales of tickets for the Community shield, are the prices down to a £5 yet.
  17. serious question, what happened in the Pompey Man u game in Nigeria? I didnt see the result.I did see they had a bumpy landing the day before the game.
  18. Well it seems to me and I believe many others that you are probably the most negative posters on here.Your return has already caused a negativity and that seems to be the shroud you cast on here. We have a new forum and so how about putting some more positives instead of the other negatives. You were not correct with the centre back issue, we had more than enough, it was just a case we had an appalling injury jinx in that position.
  19. IMO Its in your character, You have rarely put up a post that is at all positive.Face to face I have no doubt you're a good well meaning and nice person but on here you always want to erode the fans morale and it is not what we ALL need, club/players /or fans.
  20. look Alpine would have something to moan about if wqe were 50 points clear. Most are willing to give the new lot a chance because it is where we are at. Your points are pertinent but until the season has started why not give the players the club and fans a bit of slack and see.If the kids feel extra pressure because prats are losing their nerve it can only help the opposition and its more likely to fail. Smile and even if you dont totally belive give it a chance.
  21. Its typical of you Alpine. You sit in your armchair and only wish to pick away at the fans morale. Nothing is right , you moan about everthing. Even the Alpine air has not got your mood changed. Its about time you said something positive and stopped sniping at the club.GB has gone and the youngsters are playing a nice entertaining brand of football.Give them 5 games before you start your normal campaigns of strife.
  22. I was one of the few who questioned his ability even when he first came.He missed a couple of sitters in the first leg of the play offs. When he was playing for his contract he showed a lot more, as soon as the contract was signed he lost his zest.
  23. I disagree a WUM does it for fun or devilment Alpine does it because he blieves the cr##
  24. Tiger, I dont think its brave, its a case of putting a fair case on someone who deserves a little evenhandedness. I object to your comments regarding drinking. Nobody has at this time shown evidence or pictures of such things. In this day of mobile phones pictures would be easy to get of a druken person. GB does drink, so do most people here. Brian Clough , Ferguson do the same it never stopped them from doing their job.IMO It was used as an easy way for the less intelligent to try and win an argument. As the club read this site it would be evident to them the accusations and they would have acted had he turned up drunk.Football is full of gossip and Scotland would have known about these alleged things and I beleive would not have considered him if this was the case.It was Chinese whispers of the worst scale. Bale Baird Jones were either overlooked, or bit part players until GB took them and played them regularly. Jones above all was a massive loss last season. GB left the club he is the past lets get on with the future.
  25. The league had to act.Too many clubs like Leicester and Pompey took the easy way out by going into administration to lift the burden of massive debt and hurting small businesses. This meant that well run clubs had trouble getting credit as firms were wary of suppling them only to be bad debts. Now administration is a last resort and suppliers know that they are more likely to be paid and so will supply thm.
