  1. Untrusted. ie I do not know where they got the information from and I am unaware they have any contact with the club. Suspect pub or terrace talk. Would love to know if Cortese was at the Tranmere game though.
  2. Cortese has turned this club around from a business point of view but he is not skilled in football but that can be said for a lot of Chairman. He is taking a hard nose approach towards Pardew and results. He has a target and he is not going to let others fail in that target being reached. There have been rumours (I have heard from two different untrusted sources) that Pardew may be giving up at the end of the season but one of my trusted sources says he has heard nothing but the pressure is immense. Forget what the press say when they are using material from third party interviews. Cortese is far from being a buffoon. The Echo tried to distract him and many more media outlets will try the same. I happen to think Pardew is not the man to take us all the way. There are to many flaws in his game plan but let us see where we are at the end of this season. The proof of the pudding is reaching the Premier within the planned time. Until that target in unreachable let's just enjoy the ride and ignore the praises and criticisms from the media. There is usually some bias feed behind most articles. As for the mail, would not use it to whipe but it is funny when they attack Pompey, and there have been many articles of late, we enjoy but when it attacks our own we are up in arms and call it crap journalism.
  3. What makes anyone think it will be easy to sell any of the overpaid players if a special window is open? Why would any club give up money now to see the player loaned back to PFC for the rest of the season? What makes anyone think that a player would move for less money that he is already on or that any club would pay the inflated wages and bonuses they are on? Has anyone noticed it is a depressed transfer market out there?
  4. Too narrow to start with and Hartlepool allowed to pass the ball around. No suprise when they scored. Pardew, who again seemed to be content to crowd the middle of the park realised his job was on the line and changed it. What happened....wide ball played in and goal after the original shot came off the bar. We then had a decent spell and our width shut down Hartlepool passing. They started to hoof. A mistake from their defence and Lambert slotted home cooly. You cannot give that man chances like that In the second half we were pretty dour for long periods but when we got the third following a great run from Puncheon (who had a very poor first half) it should have been all over BUT a great goal from them. Unstoppable but we should not have let him get in a shot and we started that old habit of defending deep and hoofing. Davis was his usual long kick, wasted ball, back to Hartlepool. Still, a satisfactory win. Let's hope Schneiderlin is ok for Sunday because Wotton just clogs up the midfield. . Lallana has a groin flair up but should be ok for Sunday.

  6. Wealth £200m - using the 10% rule (max risk of gambling money) that is £20m Not enough to cause anything but a continued stutter for the club.
  7. Mike Hall on pompey-fans (extracts): On Saturday we had our second meeting with the administrators. Some of the more optimistic hopes we had built on recent media reports of progress in investigations and moves towards new ownership for the club were dashed. * Lets start with outstanding transfer fees. A BBC analysis showed Pompey would expect to receive £26m in outstanding transfer fees over the coming two years. - UHC Hacker Young put the figure at £0.5m... * The BBC claimed: buried in the subtext of Tuesday's deal between HMRC and Chainrai/Andronikou was some devilish detail: the taxman is reserving the right to challenge Chainrai's secured status ("that may have to be decided by a court at a later date", as Gregory Mitchell QC so expensively put it). - Kiely disputed this and said that HMRC had accepted the debenture in full. Who is right? * The News said [12 March]: Pompey's administrator is to investigate payments made between the club and a London law firm which employed former director Mark Jacob. Andrew Andronikou said he has two members of staff investigating transactions between Pompey and law firm Fuglers between October last year and January. He said the payments were 'unexplained' and that he was duty bound to investigate them. Asked why Fuglers transactions were being looked at, Mr Andronikou said: 'It's unexplained.' 'We're in the process now today of beginning our review of what has gone through that account (Fuglers). 'I have assigned two members of my staff to start reviewing transactions.' - So it came as a surprise to hear that no investigation has started, that there are no forensic accountants and Kiely was seemingly unaware the money was missing... * Meanwhile Mr Andronikou said [News, 10 March] 'more than a dozen' parties have expressed an interest in buying Pompey. Of those, two have provided proof of funds. However the administrators have asked for more information. So again it came as a surprise to hear Kiely say no-one had provided proof of funds.

  16. The present Saints side is stronger than MK Dons but they will be after revenge and likely to be up for the game. Will be a tough one but the confidence and history is with us. Also the team will be hurting after the poor display on Tuesday. Same side as started on Tuesday with Saints to win 2-0 with Lambert on the score sheet.
