  1. Never a foul, lino was obviously bored and wanted to get involved in the game.
  2. Yes a little dissappointing that they don't get the -10 next season but FFS they're in Div 4 next season and and will be the best part of 80-odd places below us next season. They'll be providing plenty of laughs yet to come. If they weren't such a bunch of ****wits they'd have come out of admin mid-season and would have been hit when it seemed like it matters. Nutjobs would've been more satisfied but the ultimate result - relegation - would be the same.
  3. I couldn't give a *uck
  4. I don't read that response from the league as anything more than a holding statement. Basically - they haven't come out of admin yet so we're not going to say anything more than what we've said before. Chill baby.
  5. Apparently all but 3 who voted it down were in receipt of "donations" from the gun lobby. One Republican senator registered a donation as little as 3 weeks prior to the vote. Yay for democracy!
  6. talking of supposed second string being retained but in a different position - I've always fancied Billy Sharpe in a Baresi-style sweeping role, any thoughts? Also how about bringing back Papa Waigo as a goalkeeper?
  7. There is nothing in that article which suggests the League agree with the PDT.
  8. Nothing to add but: lllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollllll111111111111111111111111lllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz shalalalalalala.....
  9. even by your standards you're getting desperate - how much is the public subsidy to this supposed private industry?
  10. I mean all of them. The opportunity cost of forces being used was included in official costs of the QM's funeral but strangely the Govt have tried to exclude for this one.
  11. And what distinct difference did Maggie make to any of that other than a PR shot of her in a tank?
  12. Of course they don't get extra pay but you have to apportion their costs to the funeral. If they weren't on funeral duties they'd be doing something productive i.e. their day jobs.
  13. Paying for her own funeral wouldn't have been breaking democracy, it would have been an example of the individual exercising their own choice which she loved. Why didn't people think of this 10 years ago? probably because they didn't think it would be practically a state funeral and cost £10m. Every PM who's died since Churchill hasn't had such a lavish, publically funded funeral.
  14. All they need now is someone to donate £10m worth of steel and they can make a start on a stadium fit for the 20th century.
  15. Quit, penis Redknapp.
  16. Most of these puns have been pony, though to be fair I'd imagine some have been made on the hoof. As for Sunderland, Di Canio has certainly whipped them into shape, under O'Neil they looked ready for the knacker's yard. Some of the Newcastle defending was terible but those Mackems wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and took full advantage. Newcastle, on the other hand, need to saddle up for a relegation fight. If they don't, they risk closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
  17. I doubt that many protestors will turn up and because the Queen and so many VIPs like Clarkson are attending the police would have mounted a huge security/crowd management operation anyway. Do you think Maggie is a tad hypocritical for letting the State intervene and pay for her funeral? Surely this is nanny-state/bog Government/socialism that she so campaigned against?
  18. you're not an accountant are you! The military and police would other be doing their day jobs, them not doing so represents a cost. I bet the £10m cost doesn't include the costs to local businesses caused by road closures etc
  19. Hardly, the security is for all of the dignatories that would have been needed even if no one was protesting. I expect the cost is based on similar public events like the Royal Wedding and the QM's funeral - neither of which had protestors.
  20. I can't be bothered with the hysteria and hyperbole (from both sides), it lacks balance and perspective and does little to seperate myth from fact. But I do find it ironic that someone like Thatcher who made such a big deal about scaling back public spending and the role of the state in people's lives should end up having a huge funeral bank rolled by the tax payer. Massive irony there. She helped design her own funeral but maybe she should have put her free market values to the test and let it be funded by the private sector?!
  21. This analysis means little unless you can compare it to the other defenders. Even great defenders will make mistakes in an overworked defence - which ours was in the first third of the season. How does Jos compare to the rest of the back four regulars?
  22. vomit inducing even by that bellend's standards
  23. Fair play to the skates if this is true. You'd have to question the wisdom of anyone taking out new shares. Supposedly: the club and ground are secured. the PST are going to be in the majority (see above) and all obligations are covered by the business. What exactly do you get for chucking in another £1k? **** all.
  24. by the same token the UK is largely debt-free
