I should have kept my "I heart HMRC" poster from the cup derby match a couple of years ago It's a bit of a cliche and slightly out of date but it still made me laugh - Storrie Downfall clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT_DZuT8euw

The parachute payments 'cover' the CVA in value terms but that's a world away from being ringfenced for the CVA.

You've got to question some of Lampitt's blurb. If they were basically break even why has Chinny seemingly decided not to plug the gaps like last time? He could bide his time until they finally found someone mental enough to take it off him. He's right that club cash flow is up and down but shortfalls in November and December? During the close season fair enough but December saw the Derby (sell out plus TV cash). Don't buy it. Edit. November and December only saw two home games each month but December's tax would've been due in January by which time they had a bank holiday home watch, the Chelsea cup match (decent wedge shared) and a full house at home to West Ham. January HAS to be a relatively good cash month so there should be no problems, right?

An MD I once knew lived around the Bournemouth/Poole area and his kid was at the same private school as the kid of a Czech man who'd just moved to the area - say 2003ish. When they got chatting about his recently purchased property, the Czech man told him the price paid and that "someone" had sorted it all for him. The MD, being pretty savvy in local matters, noted that he'd paid six figures over the market price. Now I wouldn't necessarily call that person a wheeler dealer but he was obviously the sort who could hammer out a nice wedge for himself.

So US banks can't transfer to the UK but have to go through Monaco. I didn't know that lol. In any case that would stop saggy chops from declaring it.

That is literally funny as ****. Top top twitter player.

We are desperate for some pace up front. Teams know they push right up on us and press hard because we have no pace whatsoever. Leicester started with Beckford, Dyer and Nugent - all caused problems with their pace, and in the second half they bring on Delfounso. On loan from Villa - just the sort of player we needed to bring on.

Dreadful stuff so far. We look so one paced. Contrast with them - Dyer, Nugget and Beckford. Need to shake it up, De Ridder up front, Connelly off. -
So you've seen with your own eyes something that you are predicting to happen in the future?

Presumably you want tougher measures on alochol and ciggies then? both i which you abstain from right?

Yep, we didn't steal money from charities

A perfect illustration of why you should never vote Labour again
anothersaintinsouthsea replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
jeez do we have to go through this sort of thing again. Are you stupid or just being awkward? Stating a fact is like this: Gordon Brown is blind in one eye. Not nearly the same as calling him a one-eyed idiot. What has being blind in one eye got to do with Brown being an idiot? Absolutely nothing. The only reason it was mentioned was out of a vindictive need to abuse Brown on the part of Dune. -

Does anyone else find picking on Gordon Brown's disability a bit distasteful or is it just me? -
Yep, not surprising when you think about it. Everyone has: 4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, 16 gg grandparents, 32 ggg grandparents, 64 gggg grandparents, 128 ggggg grandparents, 256 gggggg grandparents, 512 ggggggg grandparents, 1024 gggggggg grandparents and so. If you were born in 1980 and you have 30 years for each generation then you only need to go back to 1710 and you'd have around a thousand ancestors. Each time you go back another generation this doubles - the chances of having someone pretty notable in there at some point is very high.

Sounds very credible? lol. So Bayern Munich, one of the biggest clubs in the world, were interested in buying Pompey. That's about as credible as Joseph Cala. On aside, it's nice to see that there are some optimistic skates out there - some on fansonline are discussing the possibility of a new stadium http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=400280

All very well saying you're going to move the big earners out but that only works if other clubs are willing to take them. How long have they been trying to shift Tal Ben Haim?

Are you saying that there is no such thing as racism? Are the Klu Klux Klan racist? "Race" in the common usage shown here and elsewhere is a political and social concept, this isn't genetics. -

I had a mate you lived in central Manchester when Rangers came down for the UEFA final against Zenit. Said there were shedloads completely **** faced and still drinking in the street at 9 in the morning, saw a 'Gers couple taking it in turns to have a dump in a shop doorway. Proud people indeed.
