  1. TDD in chip on shoulder shock.
  2. A quick glance on Wikipedia suggests that there isn't a single accepted definition, let alone yours. Either way, whether or not they're "indigenous" is irrelevant.
  3. Your accepted definition? Did the French establish a functioning community there? Anyway wtf has this got to do with anything?
  4. What do you mean by "indigenous people". I think most people would use it to describe original inhabitants, what about you? In any case what difference does it make if you think that they aren't indigenous?
  5. Really? Gotta link? Seems hard to believe given the antipathy to Argentina.
  6. In that case who are the indigenous peoples of the Falkland Islands? And I don't mean explorers or whalers who set foot on the island and then left.
  7. I think what he's trying to say is that if enough Argentinians emigrated to the Falklands and become "Falkland Islanders" and eligible to vote on the future of the islands then we'd have to respect their democratic right. I can see where he's coming from except for the massive flaw in his view which is that there is no migration from Argentina to the Falklands and unlikely to be any for many years to come.
  8. The fact that this thread has been started says more about Rob Green and the state of English goalkeeping than it does about anything else. I'd suggest that KD is a good Championship goalkeeper but not sure that he is quite Premier League class. I don't think Green is much better but to be honest how many of us have seen enough West Ham games to be a good judge of Green? My opinion is based on his handful of calamitous England appearances and catching MOTD highlights of him last season - not at all impressive.
  9. Great player for us. Massively underrated by many mainly because he didn't launch it as soon as he got it and wouldn't put his foot in. Can't see him being much cop for Donny though he's hardly played any matches for years.
  10. Great stuff Rallyboy
  11. Before you get too carried away with yourself, it was also pointed out that it was made clear during the tender process that the decision was going overseas. Some then wondered if would have been better for the Govt. to have been more favourable to a domestic build even though it would have been more expensive.
  12. he's crap anyway, vastly over-rated.
  13. who is pfc123 on fansonline? there are so many mugs on that site. granted it is alot less dull than Pompeyonline (what could be duller?), but you do wonder how some of them can switch on a computer let alone read and type.
  14. Not really. People are actually saying: "We understand that a British built RFA might not have been as cheap as a S Korean one but do other factors make a British build option the right choice - safeguarding jobs, minimising benefits etc?"
  15. Hardly, other countries already do this - in spades. Why has South Korea got a competitive shipbuilding industry? Becuase for decades its Government have supported S. Korean companies through aid, grants and tax breaks that have enabled companies to invest in large-scale long-term facilities. You think that British manufacturers have a completely fair crack at US Government contracts or French military contracts?
  16. That's a bit naiive. Look at the size of government and all of it's different departments - they're not exactly known for joined up thinking.
  17. And they were hoping for Simon Cox as replacement lol. So got rid of attacking goal scorer, brought in midfielder with no goal scoring pedigree. Result for Pompey lol.
  18. If I was a recently redundant ex-PFC employee I'd be completely ****ed off hearing this. Sacking people on a few hundred a week with the slack being taken up by a tosspot injured footballer earning £20k a week. If you take Lampitt and the other two directors out of the equation I bet it is highly unlikely that the combined wage of the remaining 30-odd sacked is as much as Liam "steal your drinks and headbutt you" Lawrence.
  19. That's not quite the same as being "inefficient". These RFAs more closely resemble commercial ships rather than complex warship. South Korea thus has a competitive advantage - but does a cheaper end price mean it's the right decision? No profit remains in the UK, no tax will be paid by British workers, no money will be spent in local British economies, and benefits will be paid out to people who could have been gainfully employed.
  20. It was well established that the MoD were only looking at building abroad.
  21. Presumably that is with the players also deferring their wages?
  22. Danny Baker on twitter: "Desperate times call for desperate measures. From tomorrow, if you call Portsmouth FC, for £1.50 a minute, they will talk dirty." lol, open season on the skates.
  23. Of all the embarrassing rubbish to come out of the cesspit that is Pompey since this thread started - that Futacs clip is probably the worst.
