  1. For once I fully agree with Dune. In a few years time once us and the Yanks have pulled back the Taliban will be firmly back in control. It's been a huge waste of money and waste of both UK military and Afghan civilian lives and we'll be soon back to square one. Except this time the incentive for "revenge" for the Taliban will probably make the terrorism threat even greater. Not to mention the destabilising effect this war has had on Pakistan.
  2. If my auntie had ******** she'd be my uncle.
  3. Seriously though Lallana could cut it in La Liga and may in fact be more suited to it than to English football. BUT he's no way near good enough for Barcelona, not quick enough and his finishing isn't good enough. Mind you there's probably only a few players in the Premier League that could cut it in that Barca team.
  4. errr - isn't there a thread on this already?
  5. pretty much same as now although he might do a Fabregas, grow his hair and start wearing a headband.
  6. Are the Barca fans singing about it along with a camp side-to-side action?
  7. Pompey invite fans all over the country to help them pay Tal Ben Haim £36,000 per week and Dave Kitson £19,000 per week. Mmmm, think the goodwill out there might not match that for Argyle.
  8. What a load of crap. For whatever reason I sat in the Itchen-Chapel corner last night and was pretty impressed with the Northam. Sure it went a bit quiet towards the end of the first half and after they scored but you know people are allowed to be a bit gutted and tense. You can't on the one hand moan at others for not singing enough but then cover your arse saying that as you're in the Kingsland you can't be expected to sing anything. If you were actually in the Northam and were dissappointed with your fellow Northamers then that would be a bit different. Trying to score points by mentioning the Ipswich fans is laughable. "Sing when you're drawing" could easily have been chanted at them, they were crap.
  9. The trouble with the UK is that we're always asking our military to go the extra mile but we don't want to pay for it. Are the Yanks using decades old planes to carry their troops? Bet not.
  10. Well that was certainly a game we should have put to bed in the first 20 mins. Ipswich are a handy team and should challenge for the play-offs next season so it was no disgrace but definitely a missed opportunity. I don't know why Guly attracts so much comment. He was average yesterday no more no less as were quite a few others. Some of his play didn't quite come off but he helped out Richardson several times with their physical threat down their right, tracked back when he needed to and was at the heart of our best bit of the match which he ended up putting wide - was a difficult chance, far harder than the two that Lallana failed to convert in the first 20 minutes. In any case Guly was far better than others e.g. Harding who hard an absolute mare last night. Struggle to see Harding being here next season whether we get promoted or not. In a typical winger vs defender situation he's a really solid performer but his use of the ball last night was dreadful and he got caught out several times when Ipswich tried to switch the play. One major dissappointment for me last night was our set piece delivery - how many times did we punt it forward and give their keeper catching practice? Harding and Richardson majorly at fault here.
  11. If Lallana wants to be a top class performer then he needs to be more prolific. If we get promoted he'll get less chances and the consequence of missing will be greater. At the moment the level of his finishing is well below that of his movement and close control.
  12. The procedures around this are well established and every club knows it at the beginning of the season. There would be no grounds to a legal challenge and indeed no legal challenges would be forthcoming.
  13. Storrie moaning about the Banks calling the loans in...are we completely sure he isn't Ho? THE CALLED THE LOANS IN BECAUSE YOU WERE ALREADY INSOLVENT! I hate it when senior figures (politicians are the worst) say "I take full responsibility" - go on then Storrie, return your bonuses and consultancy fees......didn't think so.
  14. Not only that but an outright lie. The fastest train takes over an hour and a half to go less than 70 miles. It's a bloody crap link.
  15. Another David Conn article in the Grauniad. Mostly stuff we already know but did say that King Edwards ate considering evicting the club. Lol.
  16. Most if not all of the pitches are owned by the RN. This has got to be bull****.
  17. I think she means footballers
  18. Funny, I was always told by Pompey fans (perhaps by Corp too) that the parachute payments "covered" the CVA. Another load of pompey bull**** then....
  19. Shalala lala lala la, Shalala lala lala la, Shalala lala lala la, who the **** is laughing now?........ just been on pompeyonline - the mood is very black indeed.
  20. Has anyone mentioned toast?
  21. One of the Dutch fans' main chants is "Holland, Holland, etc".
  22. Fair enough, thanks for clarifying.
  23. mmm completely spurious to the point I was making. funny how you often seem to play devil's advocate when something critical is said of the EDL.
  24. If that is the case - how long is it until Birch starts looking at liquidation?
  25. But they also want to create aggravation and divisions. They "protested" outside the mosque in Portsmouth which has no links whatsoever to muslim extremism.
