Jack Stephens Signs Until 2019 & Season Long Loan to Boro
MikeSFC replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Centre back and Goalkeeper are completely different to other positions much harder to just thrust a young player in there and expect him to do a job. If they screw up its most likely gunna be a goal and then everyone gets on his back and then that can completely ruin his career here a bit like Bartosz who looked good then didn't play for ages finally got his chance made a bit of a howler and then looked dodgy as hell the rest of his time here, he's now one of the better goalkeepers in the championship. I do agree about the game time bit tho if he doesn't get a game there then the loan is utterly pointless but hopefully that's not the case and he does get some first team football. -
I heard that we had agreed to sell him to West Ham but this was more poch and cortese not lambert looking for a move, then when Osvaldo head butted fonte we cancelled it.

Wanyama needs a huge pay rise we need him to sign a new contract. -
His dad said it wasn't his car on Twitter.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
MikeSFC replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
No that's from the Celtic fan site, they are jumping to the conclusion that because we have signed caulker we won't sign another CB. -
Funny how a players stock can fall so quickly He's young English and has potential, I think some people are forgetting how young he is especially for a premier league centre back. He can't get any worse than he has been for QPR and I still think VVD is on his way so we will be sorted at centre back.

hope it doesn't turn out like the Toby situation.

My brother is southamptons academy the level of football is a pretty high standard at all age groups that I've seen, most the players are extremely comfortable in possession but lack the physical attributes of over academies. West Ham for example have a few players probably not far of 6 foot at under 12 level. Only things are fitness normally at the beginning of the season as the kids have the summer holidays off and the communication in defence is often quite poor. Most of this I'm judging from under 12 academy football which is 8 (maybe 7) aside next year my brothers age group will be playing 11 aside. But I have also seen games from older age groups while at staplewood or on a iPad Southampton FC give all academy players as like a player journal with videos of matches and various other things on.
-
He is pretty good not an exciting name but he's not a bad defender, but no thanks if he's gunna cost 10 mil also he's under 6 foot pretty sure we are gunna have one of the smallest squads in the league.
-
HAHA this happens every game to us! We beat Newcastle 4-0 it's oh Newcastle were poor next week we beat Sunderland 8-0 and it's all about how bad Sunderland are. Same when we beat Aston villa, if it was Chelsea or Man Utd it would be how they outclassed them.

Your the guy with the stats at the moment so correct me if I'm wrong but, from what I've seen of clyne (as a ST holder) his crossing is pretty poor with most of them drilled in low. Can't remember seeing many head height whipped in crosses in my opinion Cedric looks a lot better at crossing than clyne did.
-
So far he looks a massive upgrade on clyne attacking wise (I thought clyne was fairly poor at crossing and passing), but he hasn't been tested defensively so he could be utter crap compare to clyne in that side of it.

I think Gallagher is off on loan, reed keeps saying our young players are in demand and I can honestly see Gallagher having an impact like bamford.
-
I watched it I agree in that game he was a passenger but it's just one game, can see why the it's been said that he needs to be put in the gym tho he definitely doesn't look as fit as he can be. Also why do Feyenoord sing you'll never walk alone. Big club like that copying a song from Liverpool
-
Love the look of him he's like a deep lying playmaker, alongside wanyama he could really flourish. On a side note Adidas have given the academy lads an absolute haul of sporting attire. (Source - brother plays for the U-12s)
-
Why do people keep saying he's good at CB? He's clearly not good enough as a CB (yet anyway) he rarely plays there for arsenal and has looked shaky most games I have seen him. He's more of a defensive midfielder who can play fullback than a CB. Potentially can be worth the 16 mil arsenal paid for him but Bellerin looks a lot better than he ever did at RB so I can't see him playing much at all wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned out and hopefully not to us unless we are buying him at the end of it as screw developing players for other clubs we do that already but for serious cash

Seriously? Lallana was captain, he kissed the badge countless times, signed a new contract and said he wants to be here for life then clearly acts out of order to get his move to Liverpool and in his interview with Liverpool says that when he played them he wished he could play for them. If Gerrard went to Chelsea when they wanted him would Liverpool fans love him and give him a good reception? Of course not. Where as they might give Suarez one as he is a fantastic player who was to good for Liverpool and didnt have any ties to like the club just like Morgan doesn't to us. People will say Lallana went to a bigger club blah blah blah, but to Liverpool he's just another player most of their fans don't want him in the starting line up next season as its all about the new big name signing Firmino, here Lallana would of been an absolute legend and he threw that away for the money. I really struggle to be grateful to any footballers these days after they leave footballs changed there's no loyalty anymore I doubt we will ever see a player like pahars genuinely start crying as he says good bye to the club again. Lovren, Chambers, Lallana and Clyne all smelt the money and couldn't get out of here fast enough to me those 4 are the worst along with Toby (who basically just screwed us over). Shaw is different as the price was insane and I think the club were happy to let him go. Lambert obviously didn't care much about his career and just wanted to play at his boyhood club fair enough. And Morgan is the best player out the whole list by far and I think he will actually start at Man Utd a lot so for him it actually is about progressing his career also his tweet last year was about us saying he could move but then selling everyone else and deciding actually we aren't gunna sell you as we've sold too many players.
-
Gunna be an interesting premier league season Man Utd are strengthening like crazy and making in my opinion good signings, Chelsea are Chelsea and now have falcao who I think will do a lot better there than at Utd also they will probably sign someone else, City are getting sterling and are still hell bent on getting pogba, Arsenal have a fantastic team when everyone's fit maybe a world class CM from having a proper go at the title. Don't see Spurs and Liverpool breaking the top 4 at all
-
I agree that people need to understand that players are going to leave. But I hope people still give the players abuse as they are still money grabbing ***ts and we shouldn't just roll over and be happy that our better players are leaving
-
I hope he goes this window how much would he be worth next year with only a year left?
-
If we just made a bid to start with and Atletico accepted it then Spurs would just match it and it would be the exact same outcome.
-
Ogbonna sorry was meant to quote, don't particularly rate him depends on how much he's gunna cost I'm sure his wages would be fairly high.
-
He's a beast physically but he doesn't have much else going for him his passing is shocking.
-
My only worry with Clasie is that if Wanyama gets injured or suspended then our midfield will be tiny, I know you don't have to be big to succeed in the prem but a whole midfield with no height what so ever that's asking for teams to try and exploit it like Man Utd putting Fellaini further forward. If we did bring in Clasie I would like to see another young midfielder brought it to provide a presence in midfield if ever needed as Reed/Davis/JWP and Clasie in the holding midfield roles would scare me against certain teams. Toby would be good in this situation as he can play there for a match or two so maybe another versatile CB

That numpty right there is you're typical Liverpool fan
