Yeah very much this, he’s been out of the team and then suddenly played three games in a week including a tough trip to Liverpool, I’m sure the legs are feeling a bit heavy. We’ll have to wait and see what that win does to the side but there’s every chance now that result gives everyone the lift we need, it can’t have been easy being so fucking dreadful last season getting battered week in week out, going to take a while to turn this ship around. We were unlucky not to get the win against Boro tbf. If the likes of THB and Downes can get their heads down and produce their form of a couple of years ago we could make real progress. Hopefully “Welly” isn’t too far off a return to give Manning a break.

We need to hold on to this, for the sake of everyone associated with the squad, the lift this win could give us would be massive. Would put us bang level with where we were in 23/24 after 8 games as well.

I find it astounding that all of us fans could see how desperately we needed to sign a striker, yet the club disagreed other that Downs who looks to be a shite Sekou Mara which is quite the feat. I’m even more astounded that Will Still came out and claimed he didn’t want to sign a striker anyway, which makes you question his credentials if he genuinely believed that.

Would have taken it before the game of course, but genuinely don’t think Boro deserved a draw from what they created. The bulk of this squad need to be first choice now, forget shoehorn and THB, they need to earn their place back in the side.

No excuses for this, we know what the team is capable of having performed like that tonight. Yes it was mostly Liverpool reserves but they’re still a better side than Boro. I’d like Macca to start in place of Baz, yeah he fucked up tonight but I like my goalkeepers to actually be making saves, not pissing about with the ball at their feet, so on that basis AM is the sensible choice. THB needs dropping after the Hull debacle, and I’d be happy to see Captain Jack dropped as well, although the only way I see that happening is another injury as per the Russell Martin season.
