League home record under Ralph H

Try to bring my kids up from Cornwall with a 4 hour drive each way half a dozen times a season to avoid the big club brainwashing around here. Vowed never again after witnessing the drab 0-0 draw with Newcastle under Hughes last year but the Hasenhuttl revolution made me reconsider.

So far they’ve managed 4 visits and witnessed defeats against West Ham, Cardiff, Liverpool and last night against Bournemouth, their enthusiasm is waining...

Dont start the antoi Ralphstuff Benjii, there are 2 people to really blame and thats mainly Les Reed and perhaps Ross Wilson. The squad is very muuch like the season we went down a team of ok journeymen footballers with a poor defence.

It’s not “anti-Ralph”. I’m supportive of him.

But it’s worth observing that our home form is a problem which he hasn’t fixed yet. Our squad is poor but it’s good enough to eek out more than 1.26 ppg at home.

Are you expecting St Mary's to become a sudden fortress?

The 15 before RH arrived our record at home was..

Won 1

Drawn 8

Lost 6

You need to be more patient and give RH credit for the significant improvement on his very poor predecessors

We were almost at rock bottom and the recovery was always going to take time

Think it’s Arsenal, Spurs (v lucky!), Everton, Fulham, Wolves.

Defeat to Cardiff, draw with Huddersfield, draw and a loss to The Cherries....

That's the crux of it there. We seem to do better against better sides because they come to SMS to out play us because Ralph's press and quick counter works better against more open sides. Against the sides who come to SMS for a point we really struggle to break them down when they put lots of players behind the ball. Given that our best hope this season looks likely to be Moussa Djenepo the only player, in our squad, who seems to have that bit of quality to break sides down.
