hamster Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Is this a definate rumour or pure speculation ??? Lol PS hamster, like the new Avatar, looks like Lou with a moussie Please don't mention mousis, I have been banned from killing the little f-er (for now). And the bog roll suggestion did not work either, doh!

S-Clarke Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 There is definitely something going on re: Strachan. Let's put the points up... 1) - Solent confirmed that he has refused to comment on speculation linking him with our job 2) - saints have failed to deny that he was a staplewood yesterday. 3) - betting suspended as bookies making him a dead cert. Seems like he definitely is a contender, i just hope he fancies the challenge.

RedArmy Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 "We are close to suspending the market as, if the money is to be believed, Strachan will be making a return to St Mary's." If the money is to be believed suggests, we haven't got a ******* clue.
chrisobee Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 No, that was from yesterday I believe. With so much money seemingly being lumped on Tony Adams the money suggests now it may well not be Strachan.
chrisobee Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 By the way I think it was Skybet who suspended betting and not Betfair. I could not even see a market on BF yesterday and since BF is just one punter taking on another punter then they are unlikely to suspend betting as they don't stand to lose anything, only gain commission on whoever does make the right choice. CWD Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 What i dont understand is who the hell is betting on Adams? sure as hell its not anyone on here. This is why im a little sceptical of the whole rumour No-one on the SWF is ITK! what is going on!?

This is why im a little sceptical of the whole rumour No-one on the SWF is ITK! what is going on!? Well that is the point, no one seems to know where the money for Adams is coming from. Thinking about it I'm not sure with this kind of highly volatile market how much it would take to force the price down to 5/4. Trying to be positive Strachan was 1/5 yesterday so was clearly much shorter than Adams but is now 4/5. Possibly Skybet are over reacting to one or two large bets ? saintsmike25 Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 I'm in as much of a limbo as you lot all I know is I asked if if the 3 being interviewed had solid credentials and my friend said yes and one was a former manager and one was from abroad German I believe. I then asked what about this Tony Adams rumour, and my source just cracked up saying "Marcus wouldn't hire an imcompentant manager in a million years, why do you think he got rid of Wotte, Marcus wants a manager whose had previous success at a certain level" Now read into that what you will. I think everyone is scaremongering and not engaging the brain beforehand, Wotte is a more competant manager than Adams and thats saying something. My sources were right on the takeover and the foreign owners coming in when Pinnacle bid was faltering. If I was a betting man which I'm not I'd put a few quid on Coppell. Pilchards Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 A decoy within the camp to keep the Strachan rumours away I expect. As expected we need a whole new team and that needs someone that needs to focus on that alone as Stewart Henderson is instructed to keep the fitness drills going. Once the players are lined up WGS will be announced to welcome his new boys. easy peasy!

Well that is encouraging Mike but when you know how bookies operate they don't shorten prices at a whim so there is reason to be concerned. However, I see you as a very credible poster so my concerns are allayed though I'll be a lot happier when we know for sure! PS I'm going to put a fiver on Coppell on the basis of your post

Now he's 4/5 and the market is open again hence all the Adams posts.
damers Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 All bookies say this the hardest of markets to price. It is not unusual to have 3 or 4 fav's before the appointment of any manager.
