Lawrie Mac on talksport soon.

Now THAT I do agree with. Him feeling free to comment on all things Saints so long as there is a potential drink in it for him, I do not.

Nobody will ever accuse you of being classy and gracious, will they?

Lawrie is a top man like Leon.....Like some posters/fans the life of the mighty Saints..

Luvvies go home...

Doesn't give him an automatic right to be Saints' official commentator every time something happens. Out with the old regime; they all played their part in our downfall by arguing amongst themselves whilst the noose was being fastened round our necks.

I'm with you on this Ottery, top bloke. Seems some are bitter and twisted, why I don't know.

Not sure he said what you think he said!

No bitterness here. Just a total lack of interest. How on earth is LAwrie Mac relevant now? His most recent contribution was to help destabilise the club so we certainly don't need more words from him now. None of that means we have to devalue his contribution as manager either. They are completely unrelated!

Not after his recent debacle no! I would have thought that one was obvious too! Why are we so reliant upon a seal of approval from these characters from our past? Let's get in the present. They have their place in history and we may find a way to commemorate that further one day, but sticking their oar in to the day to day running of the club has already proven disastrous for the bloody pair of them!

He's only the official commentator in your mind.

The majority can recognise he's the one name (along with probably Matty) who the media associate with us and so he's on their contact list in much the same way as a number of other famous(ish) people are associated with other clubs.

I don't really understand what teh fuss is all about. If you're not interested in what he says, then ignore him.

I am ignoring him but I've been told that makes me bitter and twisted and that I should be listening to him! keep up!

As for your lack of interest surely even you can agree he was our most successful manager. As for destabilising the club I can name others who did that over the last few years, Lawrie's heart is in the Saints.

I never said he wasn't our most successful manager.

Lawrie played his part in destabilising the club, just like the rest of them. Whether he thought he was acting with his best intentions or not, I've no interest in hearing what he has to say about our new owners or manager.

still can't tell which side you're batting for!

I would bat for the mighty Saints every time as an opener and Swing bowl with a bit of spin thrown in....Field in the covers.....I would have Lawrie, Leon, MLT and Woggy in my side everytime:smt054

My missus can't always tell if I am very good at batting as I am out after 20 seconds on a good day.:tfrag:...Old age me thinks:smt022

Everyone who plays a part for Saints is good in my eyes:)

There are even those I would grudgingly give praise to as well:rolleyes:

Just trying to fathom out how a lack of interest & ignoring him stacks up with making loads of comments on here & claiming he has been made official commentator;)

It was the reaction to me saying that I wasn't interested in listening to him that prompted the rest of my comments. Apparently, if I don't want to hear his comments, that means I must be bitter and twisted and not respectful of what he achieved at Saints during his managerial career.

Perhaps ' unofficial commentator' would have been more apt? You can stick Crouch in the same box as far as I'm concerned. They were all part of the farce alongside Rupes for me; I don't buy into the 'rupes=villain' and crouch / lawrie =angel' rubbish so I shan't be clamouring for their blessing on our future movements!

Sad to see how so many on here cannot bring themselves to show some basic respect for our club's footballing history, and the people that were responsible for making some of that history absolutely glorious.

Next they'll be knocking Ted Bates. Disgraceful.

This should be changed to the I'm bitter and twisted thread.

What a way to talk about the man who gave the club the best years in its entire history.

Maybe and though I think it strange you had to be there to truly appreciate it/him.

Whatever happens I will forever be grateful for such great memories and most with my late father which I can think of and smile. Sorry ( not) if that makes me a LM "luvvy" whatever the word is meant to mean ??

Sad to say Offix we should be used to it by now shouldn't we.

Because its people like this who's achievements contribute to the history and tradition of the club - its exactly the style of football orchestrated by LM that we all wish for now. The most successful manager in our history. Who would deny Alex Furgeson an opinion on manure in ten years time?
