Who else had Lambert tonight at 4-1 to score first. Ladbroke said they lost up there tonight. I had £25.00 to score first at 4-1. So won a £100.00 got a enough for a new DRUM now. Please look.

Yup I won on that, could not believe the odds, thought they'd have been closer to 5/4.

5/4 for a first goalscorer? that would be terrible odds. I think we can all earn some money on RL banging in a few first up this season.

Last seasons league top scorer looking to impress on his debut against hugely inferior opposition. 4/1 was far too rich and I think that's shown by ladbrokes tills running dry. On another point I thought bookies we leagally bound to having liquid assets to cover liabilities at event outlets.

Whatever whoever made the 4/1 decision will be having their balls chewed this morning.

No, they are not bound to carry enough cash to cover every eventuality. That would be a real security risk. They carry enough cash to pay out uncollected bets plus a reasonable float to cover a loss but not a huge loss. They of course will offer other options if they run out of cash on the night such as payment by cheque, pick up your winnings at any Ladbrokes shop or simply pick up at the next game.

4/1 for first goalscorer is about as short as it gets. It's always a certainty after the event.

Don't be so ridiculous ffs. Anyone that would put money on a bloke to score first at 5/4 is a complete c***. I don't think anyone would've been as short as 5/4 to score 1st.

not saying i think it should have been 5/4 but 4/1 was certainly too rich, it would not take a genuis to realise at 4/1 majority of people would take a punt on him. And as said, the fact their tills run dry proves they totally miscalculated the risk.

over the course of the season the bookies will get that back don't worry. Just because he scored 1st at 4-1 is no big deal. Beattie is 9-2 to score first saturday against Burnley. It's rare a goalscorer is under 3-1 to score first anyway.

The odds are not that great anyway. He could score 3 or 4 after someone else scores first and you'd win nothing. I do think he's a great bloke to win some money on though. Beattie had a run of games a few years back that people cashed in on. He was never less than 7-2 if i can remember correctly!

Had Ruud van Nistelrooy at Utd a few time and he was 5/2 and when he went on that scoring run he was top priced at 3-1 aginst top Prem teams. 4-1 was very overpriced.
