NickG Posted 18 October, 2009 Share Posted 18 October, 2009 (edited) over last 20 years our top scorer has often had around 9 to 14 goals. We have only had 4 years when they have reached 20. This year we have Lambert with 7 (plus 1 cup), Lallana (plus 2 cup) with 6 in 13 games. Connolly now scored 1 in 1 sub. Papa 2 league goals, 2 cup Can't see Lambert missing 10 But wouldn't be surprised if one or two others score enough that would have been our top scorers in other seasons. Andy_Porter Posted 18 October, 2009 Share Posted 18 October, 2009 Lambert, Lallana, Waigo and Connolly should all get double figures if stay free from injury.

oggiee Posted 19 October, 2009 Share Posted 19 October, 2009 Lambert, Lallana, Waigo, Connolly - Those four into double figures would be fantastic, Lambert to get at least 20, and the other 3 to be around the 15 mark with lallana possible just above that mark. Surely promotion is very much achievable with that many goals? Also good to see two foreign players in Morgan and Waigo doing a book signing, leads you to believe that Waigo's English is improving. SNSUN Posted 19 October, 2009 Share Posted 19 October, 2009 I think it would be fantastic to have a striker that nets 20+ goals - but I would much rather see a spread of goals across the whole team. That shows that we're not relying heavily on one target man. If Lambert, Waigo, Lallana, Connolly and even Saga all get over the 10+ goals barrier, we'd have had a good season. The key this season is injuries. While we're all buzzing at the moment, we can't rule out one or two of the lads up front falling foul of a knock or two. If that does happen, it'd be interesting to see the strength in depth.
