Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 November, 2009 Share Posted 28 November, 2009 Is his "groin problem" mentioned in the Echo serious, a la the injury which kept him out for the best part of 2 years, or just a niggle (possibly brought on by playing regularly after such a long time out)? Anyone know?

Anyone know?[/quote'] very few players go through a season without some sort of injury. Most get over it in a week or two. Let's hope it 's nothing serious. I still think he should be on the bench a while longer before stressing it out for 90 mins.

Anyone know?[/quote'] Normally groin injuries are not major or long term, but I expect I am about to hear otherwise. He had his ankle rebuilt which was a big one, cruciate ligaments another biggy and a groin injury which required surgery. Surprised they are loading him up so much and I hope the groin is not the same place.

The boy done well Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 On the radio yesterday AP said he was a doubt for Tuesday. If he's not definitely out at this stage it suggests that maybe it's not too bad.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 On the radio yesterday AP said he was a doubt for Tuesday. If he's not definitely out at this stage it suggests that maybe it's not too bad. Don't think he would allow Wycombe prior warning of him deffo not playing. I am concerned this is the same injury that ravaged his Sunderland career - he has quickly become indispensable.
corsacar saint Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 I am concerned also about the injury Duncan.
greg_hill Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 As mentioned, if he's been described by Pards as a 'doubt' then it surely can't be too bad, and I see no advantage in Pards being deceptive about his chances. Still, I do wish teh OS would hury up and give us some more details.
Plonko Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Sounds like AP didn't want to admit Connolly was being rested to me.
St Chalet Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Perspective. - If Connolly had a perfect fitness record he would currently still be a Prem player. - Players recovering from serious injuries will suffer minor niggles as the body strengthens at varying rates in varying places. - His serious prior injury was an ankle one. - He might have been rested. - The club have been pretty straight up since regieme change about injuries eg Murty.
