david in sweden Posted 4 December, 2009 Share Posted 4 December, 2009 work permits for foreign players wanting to sign has now come-up for Man U. Saints have had enough problems in the past in NOT getting players signed and the Jaidi deal certainly took its time and he had played league football for several years here AND was an international, too but still had " problems ". According to MU statements, they have pulled out of a deal for 18 YEAR OLD Adam Ljajic from one of the Balkan States, because " the H.O. said that they could not guarantee permission would be granted in January." Oh really ? Surely this lad couldn't have played in 75% of the recent internationals for his country - has he ? If not, how can they even consider that he be allowed to sign with so little experience based on the H.O.'s own criteria for issue of permits of which Saints have been a " victim "of in the past, too. One rule for the rich and .....one for the rest of us ?

If the H.O. have forewarned Manyoo there might be an issue, it appears that only Manyoo themselves contemplated that they are above the rules here, the H.O. played this down the line. The fact that you say the "statement" came from Manyoo is interesting; it means in their arrogance they think they might get an exemption by going public on and pre-empting the issue. I dont believe for one minute that Stroppy Beetroot-Faced B**tard Mark I has gone cold on his interest.

Saint_clark Posted 4 December, 2009 Share Posted 4 December, 2009 Hasn't Ljajic already signed for them?
sadoldgit Posted 4 December, 2009 Share Posted 4 December, 2009 But if they aren't allowed to sign him surely they have fallen foul of the sames rules everyone else has?
derry Posted 4 December, 2009 Share Posted 4 December, 2009 Hasn't Ljajic already signed for them? There were two of them included in the original deal, one is already signed for £5m and playing in Manchester, the other one stayed with the option of signing this summer. However MU have now said that they have been monitoring him and decided he is now no better than their other youngsters and therefore have decided not to take up the option. That's what I thought, but I just assumed I was missing something obvious.
