I'm interested to know who out of the forty odd listed players in our squad we would be glad top see gone. In numerical order I would be prepared/happy to see the following depart

3 Thomas - three years as one of our highest earners and about 5 good games

5 Perry - a great player but beaten by age

8 Gillett - time for fresh pastures

10 Wotton - I know he's a good lad etc, but time to go

11 Holmes - never fit, fleetingly good, we've moved on without him

13 Forecast - couldn't cut it at Grimsby ffs

15 Lancashire - found his level at Grimsby

16 Murty - could have been a real asset but his body's gone

26 Thomson - promised a little, produced less

29 Gobern - likewise, and injured a lot

40 Otsemobor - okay, but we can do better than okay

& don't forget Anthony Pulis. If only he'd made an appearance he could have rivalled Ali Dia

A reduced wages Thomas is worth keeping I would think, certainly does a decent job filling in at right back in niggly games and IMO better than Dan Seabourne at CB. Can't argue with the rest of those though. Perry might be worth a shout at some level of the club though, can only help the younger players to learn from someone as experienced as him.

I agree with the ones in bold. Thomas should be offered a new contract on reduced wages, he is underrated I think and is a good physical presence at the back as others like Mills, Otsemobor and Perry are a bit lightweight. Wotton is good at filling in when we have injuries and is a bruiser, which is something we lack without him in midfield. While he's not the most technically gifted player, he gives 110% and that's always valuable. Thomson and Gobern I still feel need time to develop. Loan them out again next season for a bit of match experience and then take it from this time next summer, as they both have the potential to be good players, they just need to learn how to reach it, and they can't do that knocking about in the reserves or warming the bench at SMS.

I'm guessing you forgot about Molyneux as well, who is somebody we do need to get shot of.

I'm sure there will be a big shake-up over the summer and I would agree with most of your list with the addition of Molywho. At least Otsemebor is a specialist full-back, although he's nothing special. Maybe worth having as a stand-in, but I'd like to think that we could do a lot better. Central midfield is where we're lacking. Maybe Oakley might like to move back?

I think that fairly refelcts the impact he has had at the club. Taxi for Mr Molyneux

Boring! Let's start a thread where we all slag off players that aren't good enough and I'd wager to say that some posters won't ever have seen playing. Move on, we can afford better now and I have no doubt that over the next few months AP/NC/ML will be acquiring better.

We can take it as read that Pullis, Lancashire, Molyneux have no future with us at the sort of level we are aiming at; much more to the point is where and how we strengthen.

A new RB is essential, beyond that it's all up for grabs. No reason at all why this season's squad would not win this league next season (barring injury to Morgan or RL), fortunately we can do better than that; we are one of the few clubs at any level who are in a position to strengthen pretty much as and where we want to.... happy days.

Agree with the above and definitely release Molyneux.

I would consider offering Perry a player/coach role within the club as he has huge experience that can only benefit the players coming through the ranks.

FORECAST -- 5 year contract? Joke.

MOLYNEUX -- Reminder of those final dark days.

MURTY -- Really good player, but sadly not been fit for 75% of the season.

THOMAS -- Ideal player to have in the squad, covers 2 positions, but don't think that merits 8k a week.

LANCASHIRE -- Not going to cut it for us at the level we're aiming for.

PERRY -- Been a great player for us. But contract is up.

GILLETT - Fresh start needed.

PULIS -- No comment needed.

HOLMES -- I rate him when fit, and on form. But neither of those 2 things happen enough!

THOMSON -- I had high hopes, but Punch/Antonio are on another level.

McCLAGGON -- Loan move, perhaps?

WHITE -- Been hit by injuries. Fresh start needed.

I do not agree with you regarding White, he had a great game for the reserves against Salisbury a few weeks ago; scoring a hat trick in the first half, as I have stated before he has the footballing mind of a much older player and is really an attacking mid-field player. I promise you all if we let him go, we will rue the day, he needs another season with Saints after his injuries to really show what he can do.

That (highlighted) masterpiece of understatement made me smile :) !

I agree with all your comments and also think that for Pardew it's a pretty easy decision (which he has probably already made!) for those who will be disposed of !!
