Jeff Le Taxi Posted 3 May, 2010 Share Posted 3 May, 2010 Anyone else got this book? i recently bought a copy from ebay, only to find it has a lovely glossy cover but is filled with what looks like photocopied sheets! are they all like this? is it another of Illingsworths scams? surely the club wouldnt sell such a shoddy product? Im sure ive seen it for sale in the Megastore.

Fowllyd Posted 3 May, 2010 Share Posted 3 May, 2010 I thought this was going to be a thread about former Saints players who have taken up jam making and pickling for pleasure or profit. You can imagine how disappointed I feel now.

Saint_clark Posted 3 May, 2010 Share Posted 3 May, 2010 What's it about? I can remember the commentator from the Sheffield United game where we stayed up shouting "Saints preserved" at full-time whistle, maybe he'd actually done a bit of homework on the club. Mmm I agree. The cover looks like someone has just discovered the text box function on Microsoft Word and they're not afraid to use it.
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 4 May, 2010 Author Share Posted 4 May, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAINTS-PRESERVED-Southampton-FC-book-NEW-Free-P-P-/220596662721?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Non_Fiction&hash=item335c95f1c1 Much cheaper here, probably worth £5.95 certainly not £15! content is great, well written but print quality (from this source) is poor, i was wondering if the quality is the same from other sources? Guy Posted 5 May, 2010 Share Posted 5 May, 2010 I've got one of the eBay sourced copies, there's a handful of pages that are printed much lighter than the rest, but still perfectly readable. Perhaps there's a duff batch of copies hence the low price. Overall it's a amusing enough "bathroom read" but the content is a bit amateurish and the layout is plain, just text and a few black and white archive pictures.
