Liquidshokk Posted 1 November, 2010 Share Posted 1 November, 2010 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Six-Saints-fans-face-court.6607910.jp The accused - all Saints fans - are alleged to have 'painted a picture of pure hatred' towards Portsmouth fans outside St Mary's Stadium in Britannia Road, Southampton. Didn't any Skates get arrested that day? I didnt see any of the violence but was it really all one sided?? Also, how many mistakes can one skate **** make in an article!? Some fans through debris and missiles including a plastic chair over the fence. A six man, Peter Smithson, 36, of Adams Close, Hedge End, today pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder for his part in the incident. The trials is expected to last at least two weeks. JRM Posted 1 November, 2010 Share Posted 1 November, 2010 more inaccurate reporting of a nothing incident, good luck to the 5 who have gone not-guilty, at least getting in front of the 12 members of the public hopefully some common sense will prevail and they will see that it is a lot of wasted tax payers money bringing the men to court. it is disgraceful that the press can publish the lads names and addresses where they have yet to be found guilty. Firstly - it's a report of proceedings in court. What is being reported is simply what has been alleged by the CPS and police. Secondly - would you afford the same protection to all defendants, or just those accused of football-related offences?
Turkish Posted 1 November, 2010 Share Posted 1 November, 2010 Firstly - it's a report of proceedings in court. What is being reported is simply what has been alleged by the CPS and police. Secondly - would you afford the same protection to all defendants, or just those accused of football-related offences? Personally yes, innocent until proven guilty is supposedly the basis of law in this country (although that is another arguement for another day) However, peoples knee jerk reaction whenever anyone is accused is "no smoke without fire" and mud sticks. Until someone is convicted or pleads guilty the press shouldn't be allowed to publish any names or addresses, if they are aquited but employers, neighbours even friends and family might always thinkg, "well they were lucky and got off" even when there was not actually anything to get off. Saint J 77 Posted 1 November, 2010 Share Posted 1 November, 2010 I seem to remember a supposed "friendly match" for Alan Knight testimonial in the mid 90'es at Fratton Park in which Saints beat the Skates 5-1. At the end of the game the Skates fans tried to have a brawl with the Saints fans but the Saints fans walking to the train station just about all managed to get back without too much trouble. So the inbreds got so angry they started fighting amost themselves and smashing up their own property. Actually didnt the same theing happen the year the beat us at Fratton Park in the Premiership? It was the year they beat us 1 nil , I think think Phillips hit the post. My point being their fans are ten times worse than anything we have. I can't believe the News has the cheek to even pretend our fans are worse.

It's well know that Pompeys reputation over the last 30 years is far worse than ours. To be fair to the news they haven't held back when it's come to reporting on their lot too in the past, events such as 04 against us and when they kicked off inside the ground away at Coventry in about 2001 were headline news several times. The whole thing at SMS has been completely blown up out of proportion, i cant believe people are still in court for it, 8 months on, this now, what 25 odd people facing jail? All some of them did was shake a fence. Scandalous.
adrian lord Posted 1 November, 2010 Share Posted 1 November, 2010 Pompey are in the same league for violence as Milwall, Leeds and Cardiff. Saints are in the violence Vauxhall Conference in comparison.
hamster Posted 2 November, 2010 Share Posted 2 November, 2010 I'm going to the Millwall Pompey match on Boxing Day, it's a chrissie pressie from a relation who's stopping with us. They have promised me a nice time and safe travel to and from the ****hole, I'm not sure they've been before tbh. If they insist on wearing their shirts I may well accidentallly lose them and find my own way home. I really do not want to appear on the back pages of The News. Turkish Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8492356.How_friendly_match_banter_turned_ugly/ Why is this woman being allowed to give evidence? If this is who i think it is, then the guy who kicked her car has already been convicted and sentanced, even if it isn't what happened to her car was in a different place and absolutely nothing to do with the incident these guys are being tried for. Also i wonder if CCTV shows the car bumper she claims was thrown.

That story is absolute rubbish, but the most worrying thing is the fabricated evidence being presented to the jury, using inference to suggest the defendents were responsible for what these skate 'witnesses' , which are general observations rather than direct accusations at the men in the dock. Skate Keith 77 years old was surprised at the hatred for f&ck sake was he at none of the games in the 80s ?, and the dosy slag who saw the car bonnet another bit of jackanory.
