hypochondriac Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Thought he had a really good game last night. We always have a thread when the ref was awful but apart from a couple of things (which is always going to happen). I thought he was really solid. Well done that man. Any idea who he was? saint_stevo Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Didn't even notice he was out there, which says a lot FYI- Danny McDermid
KK the 2nd Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 I didn't think he had a lot to do though. I thought D&R played fair and open football - just not very good at it. Very few fouls.
Minty Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Generally thought he was fine, my only gripes were some slightly soft decisions in the Northam penalty box (both halves, but especially some 'fouls' on their keeper first half) and some of the physical treatment and niggly fouls against AOC towards the end, down in the Chapel/Kingsland corner. It seemed to take an age before he was finally awarded a free kick despite several fouls on him already. Other than that, I agree, we should recognise when refs do ok, because we're usually quick to criticise.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 One of the few League One refs I've seen that plays advantage when needed. Did so on numerous occasions last night.

Probably not the hardest game ever to referee, but I thought he was excellent, let the game flow, balanced for both sides, very few bookings. In his defence, Lambert kicked the keeper and it was a clear foul for one of them, also think he tried to give AOC the advantage in a few of the challenges as he was getting the ball away to one of our players. I thought he was one of the best I've seen in this Division
Minty Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Fair enough, I couldn't see them clearly, they just looked a bit soft. They were the only minor things I noticed. Just the fact that our fans aren't berating him is usually a good sign that he did pretty well.
The Godfather Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 He was very good, he was going to give a penalty when Lallana set up Banard for the 3rd but played avery good advantage.
Whitey Grandad Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 He was very good, he was going to give a penalty when Lallana set up Banard for the 3rd but played avery good advantage. I saw that. He seemed very pleased with himself (rightly so) because he stayed showing the 'advantage' signal for quit a time after the goal. Yes, a good performance, always in control, quite words where necessary. Worth an email to the FA? We're quick enough to complain when they are rubbish. Nexstar Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 One of the few refs this season I didn't really notice - exactly what we want. So well done to him
Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Very good performance from the ref. Only one complaint; the three pushes in quick succession on Chamberlain in the second half, down in the chapel/kingsland corner. Although that could be the linos fault really. Absolutely, they don't seem to notice the sh*t performances so if we point out the good ones we may well see this ref higher up the leagues. saints triumph Posted 3 November, 2010 Share Posted 3 November, 2010 Think he is the best ref we have had since we were relegated, lets the game flow, when most refs blow up for a foul rather than play the advantage. 8/
