70's Mike Posted 14 December, 2010 Share Posted 14 December, 2010 Went down to SMS this morning to get 3 tickets for game and pay for space in Car Park C (Hansons Yard) only to be told club not operating car parks , other than stadium, for game. At present I have walked away without match tickets because I was told when i renewed car park ticket for league games that i would have to pay for cup ties, happy to do that, but club seems to have changed policy without notifying supporters
The Mac Attack Posted 14 December, 2010 Share Posted 14 December, 2010 So at present you are not going to go to the game because you can't buy parking direct from the club? Is it so difficult to park somewhere not run by the club? If its because you are disabled or something and need to be v close to the ground then fair enough, otherwise it seems like a bit of an over reaction. jawillwill Posted 14 December, 2010 Share Posted 14 December, 2010 I'm 100% with you! I only go to home games to get the experience of the authentic Southampton FC owned car parks. Without it the whole match day is ruined and not worth attending.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 14 December, 2010 Share Posted 14 December, 2010 There are plenty of places to park for free within 10 min walk of the ground. Use your initiative
once_bitterne Posted 14 December, 2010 Share Posted 14 December, 2010 Why didn't you just buy parking in one of stadium car parks then?

One place on the corner by the burger van is under cover £5. Just past Elliotts turn right before you get to Freeborn and there are car parking signs every where. About 200 yds from ground. HTH. And yes the car park staff had said when we renewed at the start of the season that parking would be available for cup games, but would cost extra. Unlike you, I did buy tickets anyway, because I can walk ok, but all round it wasn't and isn't good customer service. It almost feels like they are actively trying to discourage cup attendance this season! May well bring the wife's hatchback rather than risk parking my car in the Belvois valley somewhere! It was the moving of the goal posts from when I bought the Car Park Ticket that p*ssed me off, went back to SMS yesterday and bought match tickets and getting wife to drop us off. Just do not like clubs attitude to loyal supporters, sell a product then change the rules without telling customer.

Just do not like clubs attitude to loyal supporters, sell a product then change the rules without telling customer. Absolutely agree. But that's the trouble with being a fan and not just a customer. If any normal business treated its customers like Saints (and most clubs tbf) do their fans, they'd lose busines rapidly. We fans just keep coming back for more regardless. I gather the new David Luker is Sarah Draper if you want to try emailing.
