TijuanaTim Posted 31 December, 2010 Share Posted 31 December, 2010 Just sends his love, luck, best wishes and good health to all. His year has been a bit better than last, his hips are so much better and generally things have improved. He lives a fairly quiet life these days by himself since his wife Chris passed last year - just him and his two cats. He gets around fairly well since he got his car. He reads, watches the news and go through the paper, while also grabbing the odd Prem or CL game on the tele when he can. He sincerely wishes Saints all the success and wishes he could still be contributing.

As one who can recall the days when Ron was king, it's good to know he's still interested in SFC. I'm sure older fans would be glad to see him again at St.Mary's, How about organising him a quick visit for the last home game... before we take the title in May.? Saint Fan CaM Posted 31 December, 2010 Share Posted 31 December, 2010 Seasons greetings to Ron - one of my boyhood heroes. Have a healthy and peaceful 2011. Hope to see you at SMS one day to celebrate our re-birth Ron.
Nutwood2 Posted 31 December, 2010 Share Posted 31 December, 2010 Yep. Seasons greetings to you Ron. My mate and I were on a narrow boat on the Grand Union Canal when we heard you were signing for us. £50,000 ! Couldn't believe Saints were shelling out like that. You then went on to provide years of superlative, magical entertainment....the greatest centre forward of all time without doubt! Thanks so much, Ron. You were the best and don't you ever forget it! Saint Johnno Posted 31 December, 2010 Share Posted 31 December, 2010 Ron you were the best. I even used to support Wales when you and Wyn Davies led their attack. I wish we had player of your ilk now. All best wishes for a good and healthy 2011.
TijuanaTim Posted 31 December, 2010 Author Share Posted 31 December, 2010 Ron is being read all your well wishes. We would like to come back for the last game and think it is a good idea. In saying that it is a real challenge for Ron to travel, plus an expense that he could not even consider. The fans or 'his friends' as he thinks of everyone, have already done enough for him...so if anyone wants to find out if the club are interested in facilitating such an event that would be awesome. So if the club can do something he will come down? I'll try to ask at the fans forum. I wasn't old enough to remember Ron but I think it would be great if he could come down for the last game. saints triumph Posted 1 January, 2011 Share Posted 1 January, 2011 Ron Davies is the leader of the team, the greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen you always can rely on him to score a vital goal and as for bobby charlton you can stick him up your hole na na na naa na na na na naa na etc.
dronskisaint Posted 1 January, 2011 Share Posted 1 January, 2011 Please pass on my wishes for the Happiest of New Years to the great man Big Ron played such a part in my youthful support of Saints - I've never since seen a better header of the ball & his ability to 'hang' in the air was uncanny
TijuanaTim Posted 11 January, 2011 Author Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Read Ron all the subsequent notes, he was truly moved and sends sincere gratitude. Hyp, et al...if anyone makes any headway in getting him over let us know. Will need quite a bit of time to organise and facilitate as he needs visas etc.
