Seasonal Greetings From Big Ron

Just sends his love, luck, best wishes and good health to all.

His year has been a bit better than last, his hips are so much better and generally things have improved. He lives a fairly quiet life these days by himself since his wife Chris passed last year - just him and his two cats. He gets around fairly well since he got his car. He reads, watches the news and go through the paper, while also grabbing the odd Prem or CL game on the tele when he can.

He sincerely wishes Saints all the success and wishes he could still be contributing.

Nice to hear news - even a second hand message. Thanks Tim.

As one who can recall the days when Ron was king, it's good to know he's still interested in SFC.

I'm sure older fans would be glad to see him again at St.Mary's,

How about organising him a quick visit for the last home game... before we take the title in May.?

Please send Big Ron all our best wishes too and Happy New Year. Would love to one day see him at St Marys, can only imagine the reception he would get. Great to keep hearing his messages and news on here.

Great idea for Nicola to consider ???

Terry Paine too, then it will be like it was ..... Paine crosses for Big Ron to head in

( What Great Memories )

Yep. Seasons greetings to you Ron. My mate and I were on a narrow boat on the Grand Union Canal when we heard you were signing for us. £50,000 ! Couldn't believe Saints were shelling out like that. You then went on to provide years of superlative, magical entertainment....the greatest centre forward of all time without doubt! Thanks so much, Ron. You were the best and don't you ever forget it!

Ron is being read all your well wishes. We would like to come back for the last game and think it is a good idea. In saying that it is a real challenge for Ron to travel, plus an expense that he could not even consider. The fans or 'his friends' as he thinks of everyone, have already done enough for him...so if anyone wants to find out if the club are interested in facilitating such an event that would be awesome.

So if the club can do something he will come down? I'll try to ask at the fans forum. I wasn't old enough to remember Ron but I think it would be great if he could come down for the last game.
