Viking Warrior Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 I was in the Kirkwall Hotel last night and a blackpool fan was staying there he was at the bar with his lap top watching the blackpool game at the same time his mate who was the game was giving him a live running commentry over his mobile to him he was well mad with some of his comments especially when he kept shouting common the Pool I asked him how Blackpool got on at the weekend in the Cup . wasnt to inmpresed when I said I was a saints Fan and made comments about there manager. Still do we have any fans on here who watch it on tv and get a mate to give a running commentry for the whole match . must have cost an arm and a leg in mobile phone costs
RedAndWhite91 Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 I often get running commentaries. Whilst stood in St. Mary's. The best was: "That Seabourne is playing alright isn't he"... Except the bloke was talking about Dickson.

A mate of mine used to allow me to stream Radio Solent via him plugging in his radio earphone out into his computer and letting it transmit via MSN messenger. Nothing this mad though. Northam, but don't worry, this was earlier in the season.
shurlock Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 I missed the home game against tranmere earlier this season as I was in the US - as I was out and about, I found an Apple store and listened to most of the game via saints player and my sennheisers on one of their showroom laptops. Standing in the middle of a shop that could have been a set from space odyssey in utter indifference to the babbling yanks ensconced in the homely tones of whispering dave was quite something. Saint_Jonny Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 When we played blackpool at the weekend, Bart bent over to pick up the ball and a woman behind me said in a rite west country accent "Not bad but I still think Davis has a better arse". This is why there should be no women at football. Also I was stood in front of what im 90% sure was Chambo's dad and brother on tuesday night, someone clocked them and started asking all the obvious questions. NorthamSteve Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 (edited) Used to have a bloke sat behind me in the Itchen that we called 'Radio 5', as he would state the irritatingly obvious (in a commentary type of way) all the fecking time. And he was a tosser. Edited 13 January, 2011 by NorthamSteve
Deano6 Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Probably my westcountry roots, but I do like to make the odd comment now and again. Sometimes I don't even know I'm doing it. Caught myself letting slip a private thought about how nice Bart's arse is last week!

We had tried 4 places before we saw the sign saying free Wi-fi. We got some odd looks from the locals. We also had a Skype Conference call one game where we had Solent next to a mic in Bournemouth, a fan in Scotland, one in Latvia, myself & one in Frankfurt all listening to the game and typing our own mini forum comments - that was a laugh
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 How p*ssed off would you be if you were sat next to his mate giving the commentary.
diggers Posted 14 January, 2011 Share Posted 14 January, 2011 About 8 years ago I spent a couple of years in Spain, all that time I kept two season tickets for my sister on the proviso that I called her so I could listen to the game and get her take/commentary on the proceedings! influx Posted 14 January, 2011 Share Posted 14 January, 2011 Why would he need a live commentary if he was actually watching the game himself?
landford.saint Posted 14 January, 2011 Share Posted 14 January, 2011 30 odd years ago was at a wedding reception. At 3 o'clock managed to get the saints commentary on my car radio, parked in the car park outside the reception. As the game progressed I had to keep turning the radio up to cater for the ever increasing crowd of wedding guests round my car listening to the match including the brides father. By the end of the match there were more guests in the car park than there were in the reception.... I was not very popular with the bride and her mother. And as for the brides father, well I'm surprised he stayed married.
