ericofarabia Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 Been off line for a few weeks whilst on holiday - but did try to log on a few times from UK, Poland and Italy, just assumed crap speed was local servers etc, but there again everything else worked fine.Back in Dubai and pages loading slower than redcrap filling out a ta form FFS. Using IE as I always have and was just fine before I went away in May.It can't be just me, tried 2 different computers, 4 difeerent countries. WTF is happening? ART Posted 11 June, 2013 Share Posted 11 June, 2013 I've found Chrome really slow on the latest versions. Firefox 21 pretty fast. Trying downloading and running WiseRegistryCleanerPortable at http://portableapps.com/news/2013-06-05--wise-registry-cleaner-portable-7.72-released Never used a program that really makes a speed difference as this does. It's free and really great and you'll notice a huge difference in that your computer purrs. Choose the BackUp/Restore options if you're hesitant
tpbury Posted 12 June, 2013 Share Posted 12 June, 2013 Last time I downloaded something like that, ART, I managed to inherit a pop up malware thing. Can you confirm that you don't get all that? Maybe you have a better virus checker than me!
twopintsnilnil Posted 12 June, 2013 Share Posted 12 June, 2013 There's already a six page thread about this on Site Suggestions, with no resolution so far. It's very unlikely to be a registry issue. "Registry cleaners" are often just vehicles for delivering all sorts of things onto your computer that you really don't want, so be cautious. Maybe you have a better virus checker than me! I use ESET NOD32 Anti virus and Malawarebytes and neither have shown anything. Nod32 is very powerful and never will let you download from suspicious sites. I was using TuneUp Utilities Pro for the past 2 years but the WISE programs are amazing and don't interfere with everyday use. You backup and can restore if you're not happy. Several FREE programs at the site and well as their PRO version with everything. http://www.wisecleaner.com/ http://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html
JonnyLove Posted 12 June, 2013 Share Posted 12 June, 2013 Hello all Try this thread http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45054-Slow-forum I found enabling private browsing fixes it for the moment Depends on your browser. IE 9/10 (not sure about : Tools - InPrivatre Browsing Firefox: File - New Private Window Chrome: Customise And control Google Chrome: New Incognito Window (Or Press CRTL+SHIFT+N) Safari on iPad: Go to Safari Settings and Turn on Private Browsing, Please note when turning on Private browsing your user details are not saved so you will need to enter them on each visit. I have tested this now on all web browsers and turning on Private browsing resolved the issue with slowness on all.

ART Posted 12 June, 2013 Share Posted 12 June, 2013 Thanks, ART. Might dip my toe in the water. I do wonder how so many sites offer a similar service, but many of them nip your toe! You won't regret it. The fact it's Portable means it doesn't interfere with your hard drive. You can also install on a USB drive if you use several computers. If it wasntt so efficient I wouldn't have shared with everyone.
JonnyLove Posted 14 June, 2013 Share Posted 14 June, 2013 FAO Steve Grant. I have done me some more testing and it seems to be the Facebook Integration. I added it back in and it slowed down for me again. Took it off and all ok. This would explain why private browsing works so well as it does not log you into anything else. Also why on some browsers it works and others it does not as not everyone would of logged into facebook in each browser. So if the Forum is slow people, try removing the facebook integration from within Facebook and seeing if things seep up.

miserableoldgit Posted 15 June, 2013 Share Posted 15 June, 2013 I am experiencing a problem now accessing the forum on IE. Keeps saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I am having no problem with access on Chrome though. Been like this for a few days now.
