Lets B Avenue Posted 21 July, 2014 Share Posted 21 July, 2014 Looking forward to seeing a new captain/wk/openers/ pace bowlers next week at the rose Bowl. It wont happen, but I would leave Root and Ali and Plunkett and change the rest. Any 8 from the shires will do better.
OldNick Posted 21 July, 2014 Share Posted 21 July, 2014 Cook just does not think out of the box. Listening to Warne you realise what a fantastic cricket mind he has.
dubai_phil Posted 21 July, 2014 Share Posted 21 July, 2014 Cook just does not think out of the box. Listening to Warne you realise what a fantastic cricket mind he has. Sadly, although he could put up a better performance with the Bat as well as offering some variation in the bowling attack, I believe Shane is unavailable to replace Cook. After that just who the hell is there to replace him as Captain?

Is there somebody out in county cricket like Mike Brearley who may not be test class but a clever tactical brain as well as able to get a team to bond....Ill go and get my cricket bag ready

Lets B Avenue Posted 22 July, 2014 Share Posted 22 July, 2014 Unchanged squad. Apart from Prior and he would have been picked if he hadn't of walked.

Weston Saint Posted 31 July, 2014 Share Posted 31 July, 2014 Great win for England who deserved every moment. Enjoyed all 5 days and nice to round it off with a celebration lunch in the Robin Smith suite with friends. Cook and Anderson posed for photos with two of my friends who were celebrating their 60th Wedding anniversary. Nice touch from Rod Bransgrove to put a bottle of champagne on our table. Let us hope for an Ashes Test.

sadoldgit Posted 7 August, 2014 Share Posted 7 August, 2014 I think this tells us a great deal about the whole ethos of sport. You can never really predict what is going to happen because everything is so random. Which is why we need to chill out a bit more and accept that nothing is set in stone
