SO16_Saint Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 The eldest kid (and the wife!) wants a kitten. Does anyone know where best to get one from? Our last one kind of adopted us one day and didn't leave until he died!
buctootim Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 Dont know if they do kittens but you can get a second hand low mileage cat here for nothing. http://www.cats.org.uk/adopt-a-cat
the saint in winchester Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 We want a kitten too! They are hard to come by, you need to know their parentage and get them while they're very young. Yes, I am still talking about kittens.
buctootim Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 you need to know their parentage and get them while they're very young. Do you? Doesn't that only apply to pedigree cats which are often so inbred they have genetic problems? Much better off with a moggy imo.
Saint Luke Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 Got our 2 moggys from Battersea Cats and Dogs home. Think you have to wait until they are 6-8 weeks old so they are weened. Ours were also already house trained. Now 2 lovely grown adult cats.

Saint Mikey Posted 18 May, 2015 Share Posted 18 May, 2015 Start frequenting any sparsely populated lakes? If you spot anyone with a drawstring bag, you're probably in luck. Could turn out to be puppies though, so guess it's a gamble...

They have kittens as well Yes, this all day long. Give an abandoned kitteh a good home. The kittens do go quickly, but once reserved and subject to checks then you will fulfil the need and do a good deed.
