Murray Walker completes his last lap.

The last time I really enjoyed F1 was listening to him and James Hunt on a Sunday afternoon on the Beeb

Murray Walker: Formula 1 broadcasting legend dies at 97 - BBC Sport  RIP

Same here. Followed F1 through the 80’s and early 90’s, it was a Sunday tradition listening to Murray Walker and James Hunt.

What a legend!

He will always be remembered for his greatest creations,

"Trill makes budgies bounce with health"

"Opal Fruits, made to make your mouth water."

Hey you forgot “A Mars a day helps you work rest and play”!

Without a doubt a legend of the highest order.

Rest in Peace - Murray 😢

My kid who never got to revel in the glory of Murray in real time knew all about him from watching old race clips seemed to have a soft spot for him. Not always the most accurate, but in a time where the information available to the broadcaster was a lot more limited, and with a habit of condemning drivers engines to a fiery end with a word, half of the fun was listening to the legend that was Murray Walker, because in all the time I have watched over half of the races in a season were of the dull variety, so it was nice to have something to keep the interest up. No one I have heard since has managed to communicate the same excitement, even if they have been more accurate.
