I'm with you on bacon. I think the issue is nitrates, but other than that, it's meat and salt. Mass produced sausages are clearly an issue, but butchers stuff should be ok. On the whole though, we buy actual meat, and cook all our meals with single ingredients. If it's a takeaway it's always an Indian. Sure it's packed with ghee and salt, but it's fresh meat of some kind, a sauce containing some veg and/or dairy, a home made bread or rice. I'm not sure there's many better takeaway options than that. If you're into health then there is nothing new on there, but interesting nonetheless. The bloke last night was bonkers, he was type 1 diabetic, already had a toe amputated but basically lived off crisps, cakes, coke and other shit, said he only drinks Coke and has never drank water as it doesn't do anything for him. What was interesting was the difference just a few weeks can make of eating healthy. 1

Jesus wept I’ve just ordered one of those under desk walking machines. I know you should get out in the fresh air and usually I do but this time of year the idea of going out for an hour walk in pissing rain, wind and weather feels like -5 it’s not appealing. This way I can do that instead or do few more steps between calls. I googled those machines, but must of made a small typo as I've ended up with something different, good fun though 🫢 3

It’s easy in the spring and summer, maybe it’s age but when it’s dark by 4.30 and weather is shit I don’t really want to do it anymore so seems like a good idea. I've got an old bike set up on a static stand in the garage so use that most nights, but the garage is detached and therefore bloody cold and damp in the Winter.

Good fish and chips are hard to find round these parts, but that's another take away that isn't ultra processed. Spuds, fish, eggs/milk/flour, what's not to like. 1
