JohnnyFartPants Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Do you get the impression that some people would rather he failed in order to have more ammunition against the current board? I mean, "the board" for all it means could be made up of Peter Sutcliffe and Jade Goody for all I cared. If it suddenly stopped being bad and suddenly became good I for one haven't got the time to sit and berate them for their historic mistakes. They have made a change and time will tell if it works, not a nerd on a forum making pessimistic posts.

The way i see it is he is the manager now and we have to support him. I myself would have gone with an english manager like Boothroyd but the club have decided appointing the reserve coach is the best way to go. Results will show if it is a good or bad decision. One thing is for certain is that we will persist with the dutch method, one that Wotte introduced, he is not new to the club. With 17 games left we can't afford to lose the 50% of games we have, we must win more then we lose or were be down for sure. Come the end of the season will come the time to judge him and throwing remarks around at other posters not right now, because if he continues the run off 1 win in 12 games that were on then your look a bit of a tit won't you
SaintRobbie Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Wotte can only buy young cloggies. We need experienced CCC men to survive - of which none are likely to want to come to Saints given the way Lowe's club policy has deliberately alienated them towards leaving. Its scandalous to be honest. Unless Lowe has a plan to go into administration, buy it up at a snip and turn this club into a permanent feeder club in League 1 I cannot for the life of me see the sense in this strategy. When you read it do you know what you were trying to say? Sorry not quite sure i understand what you mean? I said throwing insults around at other people who think the appointment of an assistant is a good idea, could make you look a tit if in a few weeks/months we remain where we are? Again i'm not quite sure what is too difficult to understand about that?

However...this is unforgivable: "With 17 games left we can't afford to lose the 50% of games we have, we must win more then we lose or were be down for sure." Even with an apostrophe that would be "we are be down for sure" which if you were a famer would have a certain charm....but i'm guessing you're not... It's like a bunch of vultures eager for the beast to die so they can begin picking over the corpse. My point exactly. I can't see why people cannot allow themselves to think that they would be pleased if we climbed the table now under Wotte and had what looked like a healthy and positive summer to mull things over. Just saying things like, "It won't happen so not worth considering" is a childish response and seems more in line with their hopes than anything else. I think he's been hiding/allowed to hide up until now, but now he's been given the reins, I think its a bit too soon to write him off completely. People were slagging him off before the first half at Norwich was half over, although I agree that he got the starting line-up wrong. But he did change things around, something JP seemed unable to even consider. So just maybe he might improve things....
