Newly promoted to National League, Truro City play Southampton- Under 21s at Truro City Stadium at 19:00 in the National League Cup this week.

if in Cornwall on holiday, part of the Cornwall fan club or frustrated at lack of Northampton tickets to tick off another stadium then worth popping along to this new ground and seeing the Saints youngsters.

Check out the Truro City website.

Believe game also be shown on YouTube.

Leeds Under 21s won this competition in 24/25 beating Sutton United in the final.

As I understand the competition is open to National league sides playing the U21 teams from Premier League 2 teams consisting of four groups of four National League and four Premier League 2 teams, with each National League team playing four home games against the U21s in their group. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the Quarterfinals.

Saints group features

Aldershot

Brighton U21s

Fulham U21s

Sutton United

Truro

West Ham U21s

Woking

Good to have some other local games in Woking, Aldershot and Sutton!

Ballard's really dropped down the pecking order, hasn't he... Unless he's coming back from injury or such like?

No. To both.

Quite a  disappointing performance from the U21's against a team that are likely to struggle in the National League.
Truro just about deserved their win.
We seemed to pass forward into congested areas and our control and passing weren't at a very good level.
Spectacular OG for our first goal then Will Armitage did well to get himself in a good position to score with a header from a corner for the second.
Otherwise we were fairly flat going forward.
One of the Oxlade-Chamberlain family came on for Truro.

Who was playing regularly in the side last year who isn’t now? Looks like quite a different lineup with a couple of younger guys in and some staples from last season nowhere to be seen

2 of the euro games were excellent entertainment at Eastleigh last season. Very attacking by both sides.  Playing out from back was only about 7 passes then in back of net.

I was at game and thought the team mostly only 18 stood up well against much more experienced players, several with league experience, and had our balls into the penalty area been better from wide when in behind the full backs, to where Dipepa and Ballard late in the game where frequently in a good position to score

Dipepa and Sesay both looked very good, it was easy to see why Sesay played in several first team pre season friendlies

Good to see a good number of Saints fans there too, at least 50, I thought I’d be the only one there

Was highly rated when we signed him and seems to have done well since he's been with us, playing up in the under 21s at 17/18. Would be good to see him on the bench and get in and around the squad come the end of the season. Noticed that Victor Udoh nowhere to be seen - off to Valenciennes?!
