Gloucester Saint Posted Saturday at 20:21 Posted Saturday at 20:21 Neither of our overseas players have turned up today really, whereas at least McSweeney made some runs in their innings and Lynn in their SF.

Idiotic, same brain farts we’ve seen in the One Day Cup finals repeatedly. Edited Saturday at 20:38 by Gloucester Saint

whelk Posted Saturday at 20:43 Posted Saturday at 20:43 Oh well if nothing else it’s fucking entertaining 1
Lighthouse Posted Saturday at 20:46 Posted Saturday at 20:46 Why the f**k would a #9 bowler try and pull that off!? 1
whelk Posted Saturday at 20:47 Posted Saturday at 20:47 That’s that then. Fuck but FairPlay to Northhants 1
Gloucester Saint Posted Saturday at 20:49 Posted Saturday at 20:49 Just now, whelk said: That’s that then. Fuck but FairPlay to Northhants Yes, they’ve been the best side in the whole competition this year but another Hampshire choke on top of the two stupid throwaways in the One Day Cup finals when well on top. Weak mentality.

Window Cleaner Posted Saturday at 20:51 Author Posted Saturday at 20:51 Collapsed at the end, just like Northants.
Hodgey Posted Saturday at 20:55 Posted Saturday at 20:55 Power play killed us there - I think as it was a low-ish total they didn’t really go for it up front - backfired as they were chasing 20 odd runs from that point and lost 2 wickets. None of the big hitters did anything - Vince, Stubbs, Fuller never looking in it, Cartwright done as he was trying to hit everything to get us back on track. Daws being run out was massive, probably not a run there though. Now to watch England lose to complete the day ! 1
Window Cleaner Posted Sunday at 08:45 Author Posted Sunday at 08:45 Right, on to the One Day Cup. 3 games next week, starting tuesday. Presume Gubbins is captaining the side once again and there will be a lot of first teamers not involved at the start. Looking forward to it really, I like this competition. 1
Hodgey Posted Sunday at 12:31 Posted Sunday at 12:31 Me too - and with our young team it’s a chance for talent to be exposed in a lower pressure / quality environment but a step up from reserves. Shame that Lumsden and Jack are in the blast, unless they actually get used. I also heard James talk about Turner suggesting there is a big debate on rehab vs surgery with him preferring the former but continually breaking down - sad to see. As a summary for the T20, another excellent season, Albert has sadly done a Prest - from top scorer to utterly awful stats but Currie continues to improve, Mayes looks like a talent and has more experience, Baker improved drastically as the tournament went on, Lumsden looks handy and came back well from a thumping, Weatherly is now a top T20 player, Vince/Dawson have another couple of seasons in them. Although Wood produced decent figures I think this should be his last season - if so shame he doesn’t go out with a win. Overseas we would want Cartwright back - excellent fielder and batter. Stubbs is a strange one - stared really well then went backwards but is clearly a quality player - maybe a batting wkt instead to replace Albert. And in an ideal world another spinner, that’s something we need to find for 4 dayers anyway.
Picard Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago For the One day cup Williams and Petrie have been promoted from the 2nds as primarily fast bowlers. Ashutosh Sharma is Hants overseas player recruited through DC connections. The T20 players are being rested. Hopefully Prest and Middleton can improve on early season form.

Barsiem Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Quite a divide on number of players counties have lost this month! Gloucestershire has a full strength team, which is a bit of a damning indictment of the strength of their squad when you think about it
Hodgey Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Time will tell but looking at that Hampshire line up the batting is strong (all be it not the most explosive), bowling looks questionable / unknown (Prest, Neal, Kelly, Petrie, Williams). What’s happened to Wheal ?, also surprised Organ not playing.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Wow, Gubbins out leaving a ball that jagged back from outside off to hit leg stump. Couple of nice shots from Orr.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Not a great start 68/3. Wicket looks a bit playful.
Barsiem Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Well done Prest! Hope he can kick on from here. Lehmann has been a great signing for the year as well 3
Window Cleaner Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Good score from Hants. May well need all of it though. Petrie looks utter rubbish. Edited 3 hours ago by Window Cleaner
Window Cleaner Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Nope were probably not going to win this. Bowling isn't good enough. 1
Lighthouse Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Petrie getting a baptism here. 0-38 from just four overs, Yorks scoring at a rate which would win most T20 matches.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Any chance of rain, bad light etc? Or even finding a bloke in the crowd with a Hants shirt who bowls a bit ? Shameful recruitment. WTF is going on at HCCC?
Window Cleaner Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Neal and Sharma look alright, but we'll have to find a solution when their overs are up.
Lighthouse Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thankfully these two batters don’t amount to a Hill of Beans. 1

Petrie dished up rubbish. Liking the Hill of Bean gag 😀 Only 4 down Yorks favourites but as we’ve seen so often a couple of quick wickets and sides can panic.
Barsiem Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago Comfortable win in the end, and two bowlers making their FC debut today against a very good opening pair for Yorkshire. One of our bowlers had only played one FC game before today as well. Great start 2

Need to find an alternative bowler for Kelly as well. There were players rested though so might be OK for the next match. Sharma and Neal dug us out of a hole. Good spell from Prest to add to his century. Williams at least looked competent.
