Surprised similar hasn't already happened on football to be honest. Sure there will be during every free kick / goal kick / throw in on the not too distant future...

I did a road trip across middle America last November and sometimes the hotel TV would be showing a Premier League game. In the top left where they show the score there was a sponsor's name just to the right of it.

Is nothing sacred?

Not quite the same thing. In this case the name was permanently displayed just to the right of the scores.
