Wotte Verdict - I Have To Give Credit For The 2nd Half Performance

Credit where credit's due - he recognises that draws are not good enough and he went for the win after we equallised - only it backfired.

The problem which he seems barely capable of grasping (JP and Burley had similar issues too) is that a game of football is TWO halves and 90 minutes

Exactly - time to abandon this total football crap and start to really go for games. I would much rather go down fighting than watch a team try and implement a plan that has little chance of working.

Time to try and get a good lead in games - goals breed confidence, time to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. F u c k i t - if we are going to league one lets go cheering ffs.

Personally i don't think he did go for it as much as he should of. I would of taken off DMG and put BWP up front with Saga. I hate to keep having a go at DMG but he just isn't a striker. It is like a horror show sometimes.

I was praying for the so-called Baird - DMG swap to be honest.

Different manager, same excuse: "Saints boss Mark Wotte was left ruing his side's luck"

NOTHING TO DO WITH LUCK DUMB SH@T!. ALL TO DO WITH MANAGEMENT (both corporate and on the pitch)

TBH I can't be @rsed to read the after match comments any more. The OS have been rehashing the same old script for the best part of two years now.

It really bugs me when the manager, sorry head coach, insists that we've been unlucky.

There is nothing unlucky about winning one game at home all season, it just shows that we're simply not good enough.

We are quite poor but you can't disagree about the unlucky part. From the season we relagated from the Prem, how many late goals had we conceded? Nearly all of them are unstoppable shot!!! Gomez's shot last match, Ward's shot this match, Downing's shot when we were in the Prem, etc. Just too many like that!!!!!!

No, I'm not having that! A good defence would not let these people get into positions where they could score these goals. And you can be unlucky in a few games but not over a whole season or more.

I take your point but you could argue that it's partly down to a lack of fitness or even concentration. We should be more professional when it comes to seeing a game out. We should work harder to deny these players the chance to have a pop at goal. It's quite rare for teams to be lucky or unlucky in football IMO. Don't get me wrong, it does happen occasionally, but I believe you make your own luck.
