St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11323 Think he must have been bringing some home grown and putting it in the half time drinks Seriously though, Wotte?

Mr X Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 I like the quote at the end "I cannot understand why we're not getting home results - it's unbelievable."
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 Credit where credit's due - he recognises that draws are not good enough and he went for the win after we equallised - only it backfired. The problem which he seems barely capable of grasping (JP and Burley had similar issues too) is that a game of football is TWO halves and 90 minutes

Micky Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 If he wants to give credit to anybody - give the paying customers half of thier money back - they deserve it. They gave half a performance - yet charged full price. It has happened far too many times this season.

I would much rather go down fighting than watch a team try and implement a plan that has little chance of working. Time to try and get a good lead in games - goals breed confidence, time to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. F u c k i t - if we are going to league one lets go cheering ffs. St Marco Posted 3 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 3 February, 2009 Personally i don't think he did go for it as much as he should of. I would of taken off DMG and put BWP up front with Saga. I hate to keep having a go at DMG but he just isn't a striker. It is like a horror show sometimes.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 Anyone else think whoever is writing up the OS quotes from Wotte with a slight Dutch accent in the way his phrases come out is ****ing himself laughing when he types?

offix Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 Different manager, same excuse: "Saints boss Mark Wotte was left ruing his side's luck" NOTHING TO DO WITH LUCK DUMB SH@T!. ALL TO DO WITH MANAGEMENT (both corporate and on the pitch)
.comsaint Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 So...we lost the battle - not the war & we need to win the battle at Watford. We battled tonight and despite losing the battle (not the war) - we are not yet defeated in the war - just the battle? Hmm...

ALL TO DO WITH MANAGEMENT (both corporate and on the pitch) TBH I can't be @rsed to read the after match comments any more. The OS have been rehashing the same old script for the best part of two years now.
Bailey Posted 3 February, 2009 Share Posted 3 February, 2009 It really bugs me when the manager, sorry head coach, insists that we've been unlucky. There is nothing unlucky about winning one game at home all season, it just shows that we're simply not good enough.

From the season we relagated from the Prem, how many late goals had we conceded? Nearly all of them are unstoppable shot!!! Gomez's shot last match, Ward's shot this match, Downing's shot when we were in the Prem, etc. Just too many like that!!!!!!

A good defence would not let these people get into positions where they could score these goals. And you can be unlucky in a few games but not over a whole season or more. hypochondriac Posted 4 February, 2009 Share Posted 4 February, 2009 There was nothing at all to do with luck tonight. We were much too predictable and one no headers in the United area that I can remember.

Gomez's shot last match, Ward's shot this match, Downing's shot when we were in the Prem, etc. Just too many like that!!!!!! I take your point but you could argue that it's partly down to a lack of fitness or even concentration. We should be more professional when it comes to seeing a game out. We should work harder to deny these players the chance to have a pop at goal. It's quite rare for teams to be lucky or unlucky in football IMO. Don't get me wrong, it does happen occasionally, but I believe you make your own luck.
