You need to remember who puts the money into the club that your dear friend Rupey Baby uses to pay your wages pal.

How ignorant are you of the history of Southampton FC?

Not a Real Fan???

My first game at The Dell was as a 5 year old. My parents, with my two older sisters, queued outside the Milton End in 1980 at 10.30am in the morning so I could get to the front on my little red and white stool.

As a family we joined the Junior Saints at its inception (we were a ******* family club back then) and took part in the 'Question Time' sessions with the players..trips to Wembley, all things run by the great Big Al, Alan Smith.

I met my heroes, Channon, Keegan, Armstrong, Shilton, Holmes...

No-one really cared then who was Chairman, because he wasn't a media junkie. Alan Woodford by the way..

Since the age of 7 we had season tickets, and when the Family Centre was built, we moved there.

Fratton Park in 1984 (at the age of 10) - I was there.

Highbury in 1984 - I was there...shiiit scared but there.

White Hart Lane in 1986 - I was there.

Wembley in 1992 - I was there.

Couldn't get a ticket for 2003 but I was there in spirit...

I even managed to spend Work Experience at the Dell working with Alan Smith whilst at college...and that was during the Branfoot era...I was like a pig in shiiiit.

Now, you dare to question my support for this club because I feel we are being run into the ground by your mate Lowe and a Gelding called Wilde??????

You've got a nerve pal.

Been here 5 minutes and you know it all?

Ah, Rupert wasn't here last season eh??? His long term colleague Dave Jones was...don't tell me he didn't have influence over him.

I was at the first march, and I'll be there tomorrow.

THAT'S THE REAL SPIRIT OF SOUTHAMPTON MATE. NOT SITTING ON YOUR HANDS IN THE STADIUM JUST 'HOPING' THAT RUPERT WILL GET IT RIGHT.

This is an excellent thread. It is a thread that clearly does not have all the points covered in a thread about exactly the same thing that was started on the same day. No sir-ee, this thread is totally valuable and offers new and exciting debate not being offered elsewhere. This thread should be held up as a model as one that doesn't repeat the same tiresome crap from all the other threads, especially not those started today.

Songs for Wotte tomorrow anyone?

'Wotte a load of rubbish'

Nah, many people (including the players) might think you are merely singing, "What a load of rubbish" at the team's performance.

It would be much better to sing, "Wotte's a w@nker."

The thing i find amazing is that the fans have actually been pretty good. Only a few boos after some dire dire performences. We find ourselves in the lowest position we have ever been, just about to see all the good work Ted Bates did unraveled in the space of 3 seasons under Lowe but yet we are meant to be happy? If we dislike it we are not "true fans"?

This sounds like Lowe when he did the lunatic fringe thing.

Mr Wotte you are paid by the fans, where do you think you will get constantly having a pop at them? Do you think that will make them warm you to their hearts or make them angry at you? You should be using your time to work with the team not having a snipe at the fans every chance you get, you should be keeping the players under control not let them go out clubbing every friday and saturday evening when we have a match. Your profesionalism is very very poor. Please for the love of god shut up and get on with the job, stop talking like your some sort of big man, you have not even won a game yet. If you keep us up then you can have your say, until then your in no position to have a go at the fans who turn up week after week and cheer the lads on. You really think we pay thousands of pounds a year to travel the country to slag the players off?

You need a history lesson Mr Wotte of who we are and where we have come from.

If no-one knows why people are angry this is why

Wotte said the you can tell the real fans because they're still going and will be there tomorrow. You say you're going tomorrow. So according to Wotte's definition you're a real fan.

Why are you upset again?

Because Wotte, like his boss, is completely ignorant.

I will support the team for 90 minutes, but I think tomorrow could be EXTREMELY ugly. The atmosphere following this quite frankly stupid interview will be horrendous.

He has simply tried to 'pigeon hole' the Saints fans in the most pathetic way possible.

To say it is all 'kids' involved shows how out of touch he is - did he only watch his own interview on the Championship then after the Swansea demo??

He has quite funnily, managed to alienate the remaining 'fence sitters' - this is no Lunatic Fringe event.

WOTTE HAS HAD A HISTORY LESSON FROM A MEGALOMANIAC.

THAT IS THE ONLY EXPLANATION FOR SUCH DRIVEL.

Has he, though? I mean, really?

I'd prefer him to keep quiet about the protests and the line about 'wanting us to go down' was pretty ill-advised (even though there probably are a few out there who do).

But it was the Echo who were this week basing their story around Connor's age, not Wotte.

And the stuff about moaning and fans supporting the team... well there isn't a million miles of difference between things Wotte's said and things that Pearson said last year.

Hey Jam maybe Willi Wotte ****a should win a few games at home before lecturing fans about loyalty. We will still be here when he is long gone

Just been in a cab with my ex-Ajax-playing friend driving in Amsterdam...

Last time I saw him they had just featured the Jan Saints experience in a Dutch documentary

His first words to me today were, "Sho...., you now have the shnake in charge..."

lol

... a reputation in Nl for never being at fault for anything...

In Dutch culture that is probably more of a black mark than in the UK

He said, for what it's worth, that Jan, in NL, (managerial ability notwithstanding) was always viewed as decent person.

Can anyone else see the irony in the posts from those people who are claiming that they're 100% behind the team and irate at that being questioned also trying to think of new, abusive songs to sing at the chairman and manager during the game instead of singing to support the players?

No, because they have had enough and the best thing we can do for this club right now is remove Lowe and Wotte.

The atmosphere could turn rather sour tomorrow.

Wotte should shut up and let his team and tactics do the talking.

It was Lowe who labelled us the lunatic fringe and this swipe from Wotte at the people who pay his wages just shows how much he is in Lowe's pocket.

What are the chances that the fans will vent their anger at Wotte tomorrow after a probable home defeat to PNE?

I agree! If he really wanted to get the fans behind him and the team then he should leave out the snidy comments. Those exact comments will come back to bite him in the bum tommorrow if we lose, where as a rallying call is just that and leaves no stick to beat him with come final whistle! (except if it is a **** performance!)

This club is not relegated.... yet. But if fans create hostile environments it WILL be reflected in the players performances. Isn't that obvious??? Yes, they have been crap this season, but if everyone just gives up now there is no hope, and hope is all I have left to hold on to at this moment. Melodramatic sentiments possibly, but better than some of the ****e I've read on here over the last few days/weeks - the lunatics are taking over the asylum, or at least the forum.

POSITIVE environments this season has seen no improvement in performances so now, adrift already from our competitors...so any better suggestions?

Or, shall we sit on our hands in the stands...say 'Oh Dear' and allow this club to be run into oblivion by a megalomaniac and a failed property developer?

That's right keep on giving Rupey Baby your £28 and he'll be happy - just don't express your feelings whilst you're there or dare bring a banner.

We may go down, but I'd rather look back on these sad times knowing that I tried to change the situation rather than taking the high ground and doing nothing whilst some idiot intent on revenge killed my club.

Wow - I expected some kind of toy to be thrown but not that quick! You say I am taking the high ground but in the same paragraph infer that you are more bothered about carrying a banner than if we go down or not.. you couldn't make it up!

There is nothing more (from a football point of view) that I want than us to stay up this season...I wonder... would you see us relegated and lose Lowe and his cronies, or stay up and keep "Rupey baby"?

Accepting this current situation is a cop out.

I have accepted recently that it looks like we will be relegated - we can't score and we don't look like shoring up at the back either - are you watching a different team to me then?

I went to the first protest because Lowe and Wilde have failed with their experiment. Nothing matters about the previous 5 years, I am assessing them on this season only. Which I would assume is how they want us to assess them.

After that protest I went to the game, paid my money and supported the team. I will do so again tomorrow.

The reason our young players are playing without confidence are that Rupey Baby has done to them what Redknapp did at Mansfield - put them in at the deep end at the same time and it has backfired....but then again Rupey knows more about footie than the rest of us doesn't he?

I want us to stay up this season and I want us to miss Administration.

What 'we want' doesn't always happen though does it?

L&W had an opportunity this season - whether anyone agreed with their 'youth first' plan at first is irrelevant...it is decision making like not removing Poortvliet before Xmas which has cost us.

They have collectively taken their eyes off the ball - no-one running a PLC outside of this Football Club would have got away with it.

As for toy throwing - I call it frustration at the running of this club.:)

LOL - sorry to disappoint you but you are 100% wrong. As this is my last post, let me assure you I am no Lowe Luvvie, I am a fan who wants the best for this club. If that means getting rid of Lowe and his lot then great - get them out.I just wonder who is left to pick up the pieces? Leon Crouch? If he is the saviour then we are no better off.

I think it is sad but typical of this forum (and others to be fair) that anyone who seems to want to express a point of view that is not what the baying mob want to hear is immediately abused/ridiculed/accused of being a Lowe Luvvie!! That last one really does make me chuckle. I'm sure the "Lowe luvvies" are just as bad.

Not sure what he said was particularly insightful, he clearly doesnt understand the situation fully. However, I dont think all of what he said was wrong, this is the time when you find the real fans at the ground, supporting suring the 90 minutes. Whatever they do outside that is their business. Although I suppose by that model I´m not a proper supporter, as I´m writing this from el Salvador and won´t make it to another game before league 1 I wouldnt think. My last one was Reading at home and I thought we were pretty good, we may well rue those missed points.

My real worry is that Jan´s resignation was basically an admission that the experiment had failed, but we´re just carrying on with it anyway, almost half-heartedly with Wotte instead of Jan (who I quite liked). Hard to be as passionate from out here, but I did throw quite a large hissy fit when I realised that Surman´s goal didnt earn us a point. Only found out the next day there had been another goal...

Well, I'd far rather we'd appointed an experienced Brit manager instead of him, HOWEVER, it is interesting to read that he is changing things around at training.

ONE of our gripes (you remember - the ones we used to have about football) was that the players seemed somewhat disorganised and bemused and unfit under JP), well THIS article seems to state pretty clearly that we had some sort of holiday camp running for most of the season...

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4143787.Wotte_lifts_lid_on_Saints_changes/

Good to also see he understands that he is currently a "rubbish manager" but also that he understands what it is he needs to do.

As he clearly will be in charge today, and there seems little likelihood of changes in the next week, at LEAST there is SOME small glimmer that he realises football is about more than nice pretty passing games at training.

It's all we've got at the moment, we need a miracle, hope that having breakfast together is it.....
