Another great first half ...but three clear missed chances

We need Rasiak to put those away and aren't going to see him this season..He may look lazy but he seldom misses!

Falling gates and administration are the price we may well pay for saving money on wages in the hope that the kids can do enough to keep us up

Im not positive here, it has always been Saints' duty to rid a team of a bad record

Still it seems like the younger team is playing better than the careless team of last season. But it counts for nothing if we always 'play well' then lose. You dont get points for performance.

We need a striker badly - thats the sad truth

Of the 4 "one on ones" only one was missed by McGoaldrick. Two were Holmes and one was Lallana.

Bit simplistic to say we should just get a new striker.

why..we have stern john and he scored a bucket load last season for us..

Indeed!

With John playing we would probably not had as many as 4 chances.

These boys will come good.

Possibly...

and if we did they would have been different sorts of chances.

Very encouraging half.

Unless we're all accepting the second half collapse as inevitable (in which case we might as well give up for the season now), we have to be encouraged by that.

The majority of our game sounds very positive... creating chances, defending ok... and I actually think the fact that we're not winning might be a good thing as it means less chance of complacency creeping in.

Keep going lads...

Because we would be playing differently.

Can you ever remember seeeing or hearing of John with a one-on-one for us?

The chances we are creating prove that we are playing the right way, with more experience the boys will start to put these chances away.

What decent striker are we going to get with no money?

Of course not, but we need to score when we were on top.

probably because he is a better striker and his goals last season suggest he knows where the net is more so than most at the club...

I may be wrong though

You're absolutely right.

John is also a far better team player than McGoldrick - he can hold the ball up and bring players in, as well as score from any position.

Ther probably was a few but cannot be exact about dates.

Thing is, he scores goals and scored 17 last season in a team scrapping against relegation so surely he would score a few in a team playing such lovely football, wouldn`t he?
