Born In The 80s Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Came on for Bradley in the second half. I thought he looked distinctly average (again). Our strikers are absolutely terrible!
Mr X Posted 9 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Saga is a frustrating player by far most natural ability and when hes good hes very good and when hes bad hes bloody awful. We have to hope he finds some confidence again
derry Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Needs to play close to Euell and vice versa, they are often 50 yds apart, strikers need support, split and they are picked off.
eastleighhalo Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 I thought he looked sharp and hungry .. he would certainly have scored if mcgoldrick had squared a ball to him instead of going for goal himself... I also felt he was looking always to play off the last man when liptak came on late in the game to profit from his aerial power... the combination looked dangerous and watford started to struggle to cope with the high balls being thrown in . Bailey Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Looked quite lively when he came on I thought. Lacked service but still worked hard for the team. I'd like to see him start at Molinuex tomorrow to pick up his routine hat-trick!
WGC Saint Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Started brightly with the flick on for Euell's horrible miss but faded thereafter.....a bit like our season!
NickG Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 two or three decent touches but not much - bizarrely DMG looked class above

saintjinksie Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Back to form or still off the pace? :-k Very poor, hardly had a touch and didnt get on the end of many through balls. I dont rate him too highly and when he plays like that i can see why.
Window Cleaner Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Saga's probably pretty worried about his future, probably has been for a while. I mean it's not as if he hasn't looked for other clubs is it? He's on a decent screw here, yet all he could find elsewhere was a walk-on part at Aalborg. I think the psychological effect of administration and impending doom on the players has been vastly underestimated on this forum. They've probably known it was going to happen for a while now.A lot of them are probably just trying too damn hard and the pressure got to them. It explains a lot of bad results and atrocious performances. Saga's been shoved around Europe for the last 2 or 3 years, probably wants a settled place somewhere, says he likes Southampton, but there may not be a future for him here now. I hear it's got to Morgan as well.
70's Mike Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 I think the problem Saga is having stems from us playing wingers on the wrong side of the pitch, as a little guy he needs the ball pulled back from the byline towards the penalty spot so he gets a run on defenders who are turned. Problem is now the winger turns to get it on his main foot and the cross is always going towards the keeper/defender and away from the striker, ideal for a Crouch but not Saga
Deano6 Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Saga was excellent on Tuesday and really showed up 'ducks while he jumps/miss every header/can't shoot' Jason Euell in terms of forward play.
saintpat Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 I thought he added to the attacking options when he came on and I would start with him against Wolves.
s0108787 Posted 9 April, 2009 Share Posted 9 April, 2009 Saga has been let down by the crap hoof and hope tactics aimed at Euell's head. He has no chance in a team playing like Wimbledon of old.
