dubai_phil Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 with the fans being asked to donate i wanna know why the likes of lowe mcmenemy mlt and the like have not put any money in Fair question, but there is also a fair answer - how do we know that they haven't put money in? The actual donate stuff has been done to death on other threads, there is a clear disagreement between whether it is better to let people know you have donated for "drumming up more support" purposes vs letting people know you have donated for "political reasons", that isn't worth going into again. Maybe they HAVE donated, maybe they ARE trying to help, and of course maybe they aren't. Although one comment from MLT was something to do with "alimony"... ooohTerryHurlock Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 At the talk last night it was clear that Channon et al are keen to; and will donate but they want to know where the cash is going and not to throw it into a black hole..... also this investigation by the Football league seems to be holding us up a bit. Causer Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 No that what Channon said that he did not see why they should and they had refused stuff for auction partly for that reason
Mole Posted 17 April, 2009 Share Posted 17 April, 2009 On the OS the list of those donating £1000 or more is: Leon Crouch Mike Richards Tom Scott Guy Askham Charles Perkins The Gordon family Tony Askham Badai UK LTD M Warwick Cedar Group Mr J Griffin Mike and Margaret Young I've got to say it's good see the Askhams name there. I'm no fan of Guy Askham but at least he's put his hand in his pocket unlike Lowe and Wilde. Say what you like about him but he didn't have to donate. This Tom Scott fella is an interesting one.... http://www.thisisguernsey.com/2009/01/06/businessmen-offer-states-multi-million-cash-lifeline/

Ewell Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 with the fans being asked to donate i wanna know why the likes of lowe mcmenemy mlt and the like have not put any money in A fair point. I was also wondering why ex players who are supposedly fans such as Wayne Bridge as well as the various celebs haven't at least chucked a grand in? Will Champion, Craig David, Lucy Pinder and the list goes on! Your actions speak louder than your words in the Echo!
Toomer Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Donations, hang about what have I done for the last 23 seasons, O yes I have paid up front for my season ticket lets say an average of £200.00 per season do the sum there is my donation. I no there are a number of you who feel the same way, but if push came to shove I would put into the pot.

rooney Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I expect everyone is waiting for the players to put some of their massive wages in first in order to save their jobs.
Barry Horne Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I expect everyone is waiting for the players to put some of their massive wages in first in order to save their jobs. Agree this would be nice. They could put in a collective amount if they're worried that some might look more generous than others. How about 10 per cent of a player's monthly salary? Surely even those players on a £1,000-a week-pittance can afford to hand over £400? My work has just asked us to take extra leave on an unpaid basis to stave off redundancies. How about the players agree to have two weeks off over the summer when they don't get paid? Every little helps....
