Just sounding off an idea but does anyone know of a printer or a business that might sponsor a charity edition of Beautiful South with all procedes going to whatever charities there are there to help stave off adminstration.

I'm looking at a 60 page, full colour edition. Articles to cover the history of this club rather than aimless mud slinging etc

Anyone got any ideas?

I am sure that 19C will help you in a spirit of reconcilation if he knows that funds would be raised for the club.

Can I have my own article? It will be controversial, but funny. :-)

Not looking for controversial though Stu, well not for this issue anyway, I'm looking for articles that make people sit and up and think about how ****ing great this club is...

This of it like a big 60 page advert for prosopective buyers...

Darren I have a very positive story and great photograph I may be willing for you to publish. I sent it in to the MLT autobiography team and despite a couple of emails to them they have not had the good grace to reply, even though it is clear the story was pretty personal to me.

If you would like to read it then please supply your email address and I will send it to you.

I'd be well up for purchasing your publication as i'd find it interesting to look through. But i just don't get where the money is going (much like with the bucket collection). If we're about to be taken over - and that's my belief despite the hysteria, then surely donating money to a dead duck is a bit daft. Even now with Saints on the brink i still think it'd be a more worthy cause to donate the money to something more deserving in the local comunity like a youth group. (Yeah i've just been watching the secret millionaire).

Contact Draper tools - they have a good history with Saints and may sponsor you.

If we do get taken over then the money goes to local charities and as you've suggested it then a local community charity sounds a good bet...

How about Saints in the Community? They do a fantastic job with kids of all ages throughout the wider Southampton area. And, they are a charity!

I may be wrong here but aren't they funded by the FA? Do they actually need more money?

As it says below:

Saints in the Community was established as a charitable trust in February 2002, and approximately 100 000 children benefit from the Saints programme.

The objective of the Trust is as follows:-

"The charity is established for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of children in full time education and disadvantaged adults residing in the county of Hampshire and the neighbouring area in particular by the provision of facilities and opportunity for the playing of and learning through football."

Our primary objective is to delivering a professional and consistent coaching programme to children throughout the regions. But football is also a positive vehicle to support numerous mainstream agendas.

Saints in the Community are committed to working in partnership with community groups. The Charity works with Schools, Local Authorities, County FA's, The Primary Care Trust and many more agencies, to support local initiatives. Football is a catalyst to overcome barriers throughout local communities and is a vehicle to encourage social inclusion and to support projects away from the core benefits of playing football.

Saints in the Community are pleased to announce Francis Benali has accepted an invitation to become the Charitable Trust's Patron, and we look forward to benefiting from his wealth of experience and knowledge of the grass roots programme.

Francis explained," Its great to be involved in such a worthwhile programme, my children have taken part in the coaching programmes over the years, and had a great time. Football is such an influential part of people's lives today, and through Saints in the Community we can make a difference in many ways."

My old man is a printer and a Saints fan...

He also didn't get where he is today through printing things for free...

I should think Saints being sh:t now has had quite an effect on Cedar Print's balance sheet...

And I'm not after a freebie. Hopefully advertising will bring in the printing costs we need...

If, and it's a big if, we can deliver this I'm thinking of doing BS again, with all monies raised going to local Southampton based charities. But only if the printing costs are covered first...
