Saint_Jonny Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 Didnt leeds appeal there deduction last season? They didnt find out till' about march If I remember rightly, cos' I remember it would have boosted them into and automatic promo spot.. Think these appeals take a loooooooong time to go through (and I bet they are expensive!)
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 This could drag on and on, with Southampton taking legal action against the FL. They have a precedent and that has been broken.
Saintjersey Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 If we produced a miracle and stayed up, then appealed we unfortunately would not find out the outcome until we are into the new season. Then we could go down the whole West Ham/ Tevez saga.
kelkel31 Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 Fundamental problem Some believe there is a fundamental problem within the game about the way football runs its finances. Asked about this, he replied: "Let us be quite clear here - I don't know what 'football runs its finances' actually means. "Each of our clubs is an independent legal entity - each club has a board of directors - and they are legally responsible for what happens at the club, how the club conducts its business. "That is not a matter for the Football League board, that is a matter for the individual clubs. "If the individual club gets itself into what proves to be, or what they believe to be, an unsustainable position then under the law of the land they can go into administration. "If that happens it triggers certain rules and regulations within the Football League - that's what happened today and those rules and regulations are there and are designed to try to offer some protection to the integrity of the competition so that when fans go to games or they watch them on Sky they know that the game is a fair and reasonable competition between two clubs." this is a quote from the FA muppets live on sky sports, the football club is not in administration, this is a matter of fact not conjecture, so by saying this he has already rubbished his decision to deduct 10 points, we have appealed and there is absolutely no reason to not have it overturned, the FA is not a body that has the ability to decide weather theres is a difference between the football club and the holding company, the fact is in the eyes of the law there IS! stevegrant Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 I don't think there's any "If" about it - we will appeal, and judging by the conduct suggested in the statement on the OS, rightly so.

This makes me laugh, how is it fair just because of this rule? We have 30 mill debt and are now ****ed but united are like 600 mill in debt and no one gives a ****? Thats not fair, thats a ****ing joke. The football league can go and **** themselves. Btw ask yourselve this, if this was United that had randomly had this happen to them would they get the same punishment? I think not.
