Derry,

Can someone please spell out just exactly what this means???

I get the impression the general vibe is that we all imagine without these funds the Football Club will be unable to pay wages etc and will therefore go into administration (no points issue now as we've already been hit with that), but then again haven't loads of clubs done this as well??

What is wrong with the view of

"so what if the Club goes into administration as surely we'll come out the other side, everyone else has"

and

"why not just hold your money back and plough it in post administration??? "

I'm just struggling to get my head around what is going on, what we should and shouldn't be doing (and I don't think I'm alone on this).

Steve, there is no administration, I am told the club would have to be wound up, it's that serious.

It is very serious. I felt totaly sick when I was told the how bad is has got.

I'm not happy about spending my hard earned cash to pay for the players wages either. But if it means keeping our beloved club alive, then I will do all I can to make that happen.

I hope the person who told me the severety of the situation goes to the echo/radio and raise the awareness of this sad situation were in.

where is the money going?

is it to keep the club going or pay the wages?

is it too late to change anything by contributing?

why dont the players help the cause by not drawing their wages for the last 2 games?

is my small donation going to be enough?

i dont mind sticking some money in the bucket but i want to know a bit more, perhaps somebody could explain to us lot exactly what is happening and if our money will be used correctly.

There is not a chance in hell of me putting money into a bucket to pay Rudi Skacel's wages. Until I read on the official website that all senior players have not been paid/taken a wage cut/taken a wage holiday etc. then they can do one. Why would any man on the street even consider handing over their hard earned to effectively ensure Wayne Thomas gets his £8k a week?

Until someone can explain otherwise I just see collecting cash from fans is pointless and morally questionable. The players are presumably still drawing the several grand a week salaries?

If we don't pay the players we will be wound up. If every fan put in a fiver we would raise about £75,000, kids, and couples excluded. That would buy us another week. Think about it.

I agree with your sentiments but the players are merely employees of the club. Only fans will make a difference now sadly.

I have 3 buckets in my garage, and a washing up bowl, I will go and knock on the neighbours doors in a minute and try and collect some more buckets.

I see your point and I think all the high earners at the club should be donating their wages, but you could look at it another way. The players wages aren't the only cost for the club so just imagine you are paying the wages of the stewards or the helpful people at the ticket office instead :)

I'm not sure, but I will do everything in my power to rise to the challenge.

I am waiting for my next door neighbour to get back from work, I saw him washing his car yesterday, so he must have a bucket.

Washing his car on St George's Day, I think that by some antique byelaw or other you can get hung drawn and quartered for that.

Isn't that what we do, indirectly, by buying tickets for the match? I get the drift though, I was going to put £20 in the pot tomorrow but have decided to pay £30 to the ticket donation scheme.

Give a little bit to the government as well, very patriotic.

But it's better than giving direct, someone will get to see the game who might not have done otherwise. Pity we waited until the end of the season.
