scott_saints Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Sounds like he wants to stay. Will be an awesome player in L1 imo.
Colinjb Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Agreed. Despite the truama we are going through it's great to see players really nail their colours to the mast.
Ponty Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Indeed Colin, and (as painful as it may be for some) I think we have to credit Wotte with much of the unity in the dressing room.
krissyboy31 Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 TBH I'd make him captain next year. The sort of player that leads by example.
doughnutman Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Gillet has been immense for us this season I feel and had he not got injured i think we would have avoided relegation (not including the points deduction). IMO if we can have a spine of KD, size and gillet for next season we will do very well.
a1ex2001 Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I think he would have been a close second for my player of the season and would have been even closer if it wasn't for his spell out of the side, played with passion and determination everytime which was something most of our players failed to do. Saints foreva Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 After a poor start to the season (in my opinion) he has really impressed me since the turn of the year. For his size you wouldn't expect alot from him but what a battler. Always gets stuck in. Will be pleased if he stays next season.
channonwindmill Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 If Size would only stay because of Wotte, and that's just a theory, would it therefore be sensible to keep Wotte? I'd say yes. But likewise, if him staying means Ryan Smith staying, then I'm not so sure! That's Ryan "World Class" Smith to you...
saints_is_the_south Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Spoke to Gillett after the game & he said he'd definatly still be here next season.
Saint Charlie Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Very impressive at times this year. A well rounded midfielder who can do a bit of everything. Must keep and agree re captaincy.
LeBenali Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 Turning point for Gillett this season for me was when he got a few boo's around February time (can't remember the game?) for backing out of a 50/50 tackle. Ever since then he's been immense. Started off well with Schneiderlin aswell, all in alll would probs say only KD and Perry have been better then him this season. S4INT Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I love Simon Gillett We have a squad that could do a job in league one IMO, just need to keep them together... and overcome the -10 start... oh and remain a trading football club... :/
