.... lol, nevermind, the idea was good whilst it lasts.

Can anyone else not help but think that the money everyone has spunked up the wall to pay for the players wages has gone completely to waste?

£91k pledged ( not given, pledged ) to the cause.... not even enough to pay the wage bill for a couple of days, let alone have any impact in taking the club over.

Can't say I am suprised about the All-Stars match, ok it wasn't advertised well, infact it is probably the worst piece of marketing I have ever seen, if Lawrie had to phone 30 players to say it was cancelled, why didn't we know about any of them? Maybe people would have bought a ticket if they had been privvy to who was actually playing!

These last few weeks have been yet another example and the nail in the coffin to prove that fan participation never works.

Let's hope we get taken over sooner rather than later, leave the pledging to the big boys who can really make a difference and hope that a brighter future is round the corner.

Makes me sick to think I have put money in the buckets etc whilst the players have not donated a dime between them.

Just another sad and hopefully final chapter in a completely embarrasing 5 years. Let's hope for a new book with a better storyline to be released soon.

The whole Legends match was a slung together affair.

I think a lot of people thought why the **** should i pay out to pay those over paid over hyped tossers.

I kept my money in my pocket and did not give to any of it.

When the spoilt under performing ****s are sunning themselves and their egos on a beach i hope they have a **** time and fingers crossed they bump into a few Saints fans who tell them exactly what they think of them.

To be fair to LM and Mike Osman. Their idea was a good one, to be played 27th April the teams were organised but Fry vetoed it as he said it was sending out the wrong message. At that time it probably would have been a good gate as the pot was still boiling.

After that it was a mess.

Maybe if they caught a dose of the VD as well from some tart on the beach that might be good?

I must admit i was surprised that the players hadnt taken a pay cut or even defered their wages for a while and im even more shocked that no one at the club had the bottle to even suggest this.

But the biggest surprise to me was that the club didnt ask the players to reduce their wages because it might affect their performance.

Ha!

Priceless.

Totally agree.

IMO, this is a major part of the problem with professional football - GREED.

Everyone including non-playing staff, seem to think the fans will cough up dosh no matter what.

I have to congratulate the Eastleigh players as they accepted reduced wages in November as a result of the credit crunch. Semi pro players appear a hell of a lot more realistic.
