I hired one in Puglia a few years ago, it was fine to be fair although the biggest city we went to was Lecce which wasn't that big, i wouldn't fancy doing it in the big cities. As Sheaf says you need to be assertive and just pull out into any gap otherwsie you'll sit there for ages, also parking is weird as they seem to dump their cars in any gap there doesn't seem to be any set parking spaces, although that might be a thing in Pulgia as it's quite rural. I dont remember a fiscal code but be careful and only use a reputable company as there are quite a few scam merchants in Italy would will screw you over heard some horror stories of people being charged thousands there for scratches and marks that were already on there but they hadnt checked the documents properly. That was a classic he literally denied there was any violence whatsoever (as it hadn’t been reported in the guardian- lol) until people posted videos of it. Then he claimed it was largely peaceful as out of thousands of people there only a few hundred were arrested and it was all worthwhile case anyway by the same measurement the lately peaceful war in gaza must be for a good cause as they’re they’re trying to eliminate terrorists, correct?I mean out of all the millions of people living there only a few thousand have died.

lets all remind ourselves that this is the same guy who before all this kicked off in Gaza spent an entire day trying to prove what Jews were, a race, religion in his words “just what exactly” he has a long history on anti Jewish posts and they seem to be continuing on this thread. Are you surprised? This has been how it’s been for years with him he’s a laughing stock, a joke figure across multiple forums. He takes it all so seriously and thumps away at his keyboard regularly making himself look a complete crumpet, disappears, then returns a few days later preaching on another subject. It’s gone on for years. In the odd occasions he does make a good point it usually ends with a dig or rant about right wing stuff which invalidates anything of sense he does say. I called it ages what a nasty piece of work and hypocrite he is and took a lot of stick for it, now it seems quite a few others have opened their eyes.
