I'd have Broja back in a heartbeat..he was a bloody menace when he came on Tuesday night!

Still in the Gasworks having a post match pint and have to say I thought we were pretty damn good today. It was a good performance with loads of spirit, effort and some good football. The only difference between the sides was a bit more class in the final third....amazing what a bottomless pit of money can do. We'll play a lot worse than today and win. Our back line were all excellent as well as Lavia, JWP and Adams.....team clapped off at the end which says it all. I'm a lot more confident for the rest of the season from what I saw today

Much as I hope I'm wrong, Delap won't be coming here in all liklihood. Pep is personally blocking a transfer and I reckon a loan will mean him going to Burnley As for the lack of experience comments, if Pep wants to keep him and the City scouting and youth setup want him and we want him with the former close links to City youth setup and scouting its probably a fair assumption that he's not going to be a lemon

I agree with you but Howe is already starting to make noises to that effect
-
It's more that as I understand it they are now very close to hitting the mandated minimum number of available players to be able to request a postponement...a couple of faked additional injuries and that will be that
-
Im going to reserve judgement. We don't know who has knocks, covid or needs a rest......but I will say I'm glad I decided not to go today because my father in law is nervous of covid and I'm only just getting over it I don't know if resting players for the Newcastle game is a good idea as it is highly possible that the game will be postponed now that St Maximum and Wilson have been added to their massive injury / covid list

Funniest thing I've seen today My whole family is West Ham.......I am so fuckin happy right now because they're picks when it cums to football ......COYS!
-
That's a good point with the players we have out.

Hanging on here boy and girls
-
Terrible keeper
-
Stop blaming the keeper ffs....about four other players fucked up in front of him
-
With the funds and squad he has had to work with, he's done a great job just keeping us where we are. Only Norwich have a lower net spend. I wouldn't blame him if he did go somewhere else where he'd have more to work with but I really hope he stays. Most fans i know from other clubs really rate him....Based on some of the stuff on here,it's mainly saints fans that dont

Not surprised Smith has gone.....good squad on paper but in a poor run as for the attendance on Friday......I was there and apart from a part of the corporate area in the Northam it was pretty much full. about 30k I would say was about right......20k my arse!

Really good post! I have no doubt Tino will end up playing in a more advanced or central midfield role. However he is very young and very inexperienced at this level. He needs time to learn ONE role properly at this level first, even just being a first team premier league pro and he does not need the confusion of multiple roles and demands at the moment There will be also ups and downs with his performance as evidenced by a very slight drop in performance levels against Villa on Friday. He needs to be managed very carefully and rested occasionally, think of how Ryan Giggs was managed by Alex Ferguson, otherwise we risk burnout, injury and / or future progression We have a stellar asset in my opinion and with that a responsibility to manage and develop him responsibly. If we do this, we will get the rewards over the next 2/3 years or a big sell on fee, either of which will benefit the club. If we want to heap expectation on to players, let do it on others who may not be performing or who are more seasoned professionals should be able to step up I'm really excited about this kid....could easily be another Gareth Bale

Ralph, the manager, has made him captain and plays him every chance he gets. The England manager now picks him on a pretty regular basis for the England squad and a sometimes starter in the 11 Opta data seems to largely bear out his quality as a top midfield performer Based on the above, I think it's fair to say most people who know what they're talking about would think our below mid table premier league team is better off with him in it In my opinion, it is very likely he will be playing elsewhere within 18 months as he is also coveted by others outside this forum and our club. So those of you who think he is pony are likely to get your wish soon enough......with the benefit of hindsight i suspect those individuals will get to look back at a later date and realise they were very wrong

Villa were much bigger than us and starting to out muscle us as they changed to a Wimbledonesque long ball 'get it in the mixer' approach and were looking dangerous with the Arial approach. I think the Lyanco substitution and switch in formation was the pivotal moment in us getting the three points......plus SArmstrong was knackered All in, Ralph's game management was spot on last night, both in personnel changed and timing.

Because a good friend of mine who's a Palace fan until recently rented a house from JWP and JWP told him that when Pep leaves Man City at the end of this season he is definitely going to manage Southhampton !
-
Please....just stop, the more you say, the more ridiculous it sounds
-
He wouldn't have made the save McCarthy made in injury time on Saturday though....not agile enough
-
His injury last season was one of the main reasons for our plummet from the top half of the league. That's how good he is and how important to us he is.......bonus that he seems to be a top bloke as well. We are lucky to have two top class CMs in our team in him and JWP

you must have been watching a completely different game to me. Coming out of the ground it seemed that most of the fans, like me, really enjoyed the game and most that I spoke to, thought we deserved to win considering how Antonio completely bullied our Centre backs in the last few games, I was really impressed with how we played. The rest of my family are West Ham fans and my day would have been f*cking murder if we'd lost, so I'm grateful for that
-
I dont think the selection is strange at all Not sure Perroud deserved to be dropped but as others have said, KWP is more experienced in the the Premier League and has good pace, fitness and positional awareness to deal with the pace Newcastle offer up front Glad to see Moi in and Broja on the bench

Ralph seems to think Jack's toughened up and becoming a leader at the back. Last week's performance seemed to back this up. I hope this is true as I've always wanted him to do well. I know he's always got a big error in him but for some reason I just like the way he tries to play. There's a really good player in there trying to get out I'll put my flame proof suit on!
-
This could set the tone for what the rest of the season plays out like I am cautiously optimistic but expecting to feel downbeat after coming away with a draw from a good performance that feels like we threw away. 2-2 Armstrong, Adams - hopefully an assist from Livramento as he's in my FPL team today
-
I wouldn't wanna fight him by the look of it..... A unit who might be a bit of a nutter might be just What we need I have an open mind on this transfer, particularly based on what I've seen this window with the other deals This and based on what I saw at SMS on Sunday as well, I'm more confident about the season than I was a week ago
