I think Hughes comments about Moss the ref were a riot:
"The assistant referee is about two or three yards away and clearly sees it isn't a foul but Jon Moss, as he usually is, about 30 yards behind play, decided to give a free-kick.
"To compound that situation he allows them to take it from the wrong position, 10 to 15 yards ahead, and at that point we are still arguing about whether it should have been a free run on goal for ourselves."
"Asked whether he has spoken to Moss, Hughes replied: "What's the point? He's probably getting his breath back."
On the positive side, our form is actually much better with Hughes. We've now gotten 5 points in the last 3, two of which were away from home. If we beat Swansea it will be 8 pts in 4. We waited way too long to replace MP.
Not winning this match has really nothing to do with our chances getting ahead of Swansea, we always had to beat them. It was everything to do with getting ahead of Hudders. We'd be ahead of them right now, which means if they lost out we'd be in.
Yep, 4 pts in our next two put us up over Swansea for sure. However we may just need 3, I think its actually probable that Hud lose out and end up on 35.
3 more points in our last 3 matches me just do this, especially if they are against Swansea. Huddersfield could likely finish at 35 pts, and their gd is terrible. If we beat Swansea they would need 3 points from their other 2 matches, since we would likely beat them in gd.
I thought we played excellent today, Redmond aside. One big difference to me is that we seem to be attacking defensively more in the midfield area (both mids and defenders). Rather than in previous games where we sat back and let the other team have possession and tried to suck up the pressure, which always led to scores, we were closing the space and fighting for every ball. The Cherries never had that much space. I credit this Hughes.
I read that he refused to warm-up before a game for some reason, so he had a big blow up with Hughes. I read that Hughes even threw a water bottle at him. I don't think Hughes takes much crap. Anyway, who knows if its true.
Remaining matches (we likely own the gd tiebreaker) -its not over, 2 wins may do it. Three should do it.
