What do you consider 'better run'? Bit of an ambiguous question, to be honest.
  2. No doubt he made the most of it, rightly or wrongly (I don't like to see that personally, but then you have to look at J-Rod at Arsenal where he was denied a blatant pen for being too honest).
  3. It wasn't a dive, but in the same light there wasn't enough contact for it to be a penalty (for me). If that was reviewed, he would not get banned as there was clear contact.

    Boufal

He was out with a serious injury for a 1/4 of last season and then the rest of it he pretty much spent on the bench, so yeah, about 2 minutes is probably right. People need to be realistic, if he was the finished package who could control a game (like he did on Saturday when he came on) for 90 minutes every week, then he wouldn't be at us. The only was he will get consistency is by playing week in week out, and yes he will make mistakes. Had it not been for Boufal's extra bit of quality, it's very possible we wouldn't have made a cup final (goal against Sunderland) and wouldn't have finished 8th (goal against Middlesbrough at home), so to say he's finally taken one of the chances he's been given is unfair. I feel at bit for Boufal as he's come to us when we have 2 managers who's first thought is to keep the ball and be defensively sound. IMO, If MP wants to be successful at Saints, he needs to put his arm round SB's shoulder, make him feel loved and build a team around him as he's the only player we have who is capable of winning us a game.
  5. JWP should be nowhere near the team. The last thing we need is someone else in the middle who can only pass it 5 yards sideways. For me, I’d be going with the team/formation that started last night, with boufal coming in for Tadic and Austin in for Long (Austin just offers us something different, gabbi and Long similar players technically rather than ability wise, IMO)
  6. Yep, this is what I thought/assumed at the time. We have some right dinlos in our fan base though so it wouldn’t surprise me
  7. Spot on - great post. Players like Boufal are going to be like marmite as they will give the ball away more than someone like JWP. For me, I love him, the only player in our squad who has the ability to get me off my seat when he’s on the ball, but he does need consistency if he wants to push on to the next level. Give him a run of 10 games, he cannot be any worse than Redmond who has offered us next to nothing since being here. The question you have to ask yourself is who is more likely to win us a game? Boufal or JWP.... With Romeu and Lamina we have enough defensive cover to let Boufal play in the 10 and have a free role.

    Boufal

Spot on, he’s a must if you ask me. He actually offers more defensively than Tadic and Redmond as well

    Boufal

He may be inconsistent, but you don’t score goals like that if you’re not a great talent.... Cuco’s goal as good as it was, was a hit an hope. That goal today took genuine skill and ability, if It’d been scored by messi everyone would have gone wild.
  10. Predicted a dull 0-0 and had it not been for a moment of brilliance, I would have been spot on. However, that was much, of not all, to do with how WBA set up (can you honestly imagine paying to watch them week in week out?). Much better today, we moved the ball quicker, looked more of a threat and controlled the game. Had WBA wanted to leave their half, we’d have scored more. Lamina class, again. Thought the 2 up top worked well and hard for each other although I’d like to see Austin with Gabbi as I find Long and Gabbi slightly too similar. Boufal showing us what he can do, hopefully he builds on that. Unfortuntely it has to be said that Forster looked poor again, surely he’ll be dropped soon? For me, Boufal has to start ahead of Tadic next week. 2 weeks in a row he’s changed the game for us.

    Claude Puel

Really? So if we offered Watford VvD, Bertrand, Cedric, lamina, Romeu and Gabbi they wouldn’t take them? Player for player our squad is better than Watford’s.

    Claude Puel

Let’s just clarify a few things. I said Bertrand was off yes, this was whilst Puel was still at the club. As it happens, Puel left, Pellegrino cane in and persuaded Ryan along with a few others to stick around, for at least one more season. Thus came from a very close source and I’ve no reason to doubt its true (performances would suggest it is as well). You and Pamplemousse made a ridiculous assumption / judgment on a manger due to his relegation from the PL, with a Hull side that we’re destined for the drop anyway. In fact, it was down to Silva that they fought as long as they did.

You along with always banged on about how Silva was a poor manager due to relegation with Hull. You knowledge of football is so sparse, I wouldn’t in the slightest be surprised if you did consider him World Class.

    Claude Puel

He’ll also have West Ham and Everton to talk to as well in the coming weeks... let’s see which one he chooses, as they’ll all be fighting over a ‘world class’ manager such as Puel.
  15. Yet our targets / plan last season was to reach the later stages of the EL and then qualify for Europe again. We failed to do this, yet Puel was branded a Hero by some. I've even just seen someone call him a 'world class manager' . I agree that they have looked poor this season and actually I think that within the next 2 games, Koeman will be gone, probably rightly so given their start this season. I'm just warning don't get too cocky as you will probably (most likely IMO) end up with egg on your face.

    Claude Puel

What?!?!?!?:lol: Amazing how many senior professionals who have been at top clubs failed to recognise a world class manager. Come on mate, you cannot honestly believe that he is a 'world class' manager?
  17. No excuses, Facts? Look at their fixture/Results list. Figure of speech, not a betting man personally, but we shall see come the end of the season
  18. Everton have had a poor start to the season all things considered, but they have had arguably the toughest start to the campaign out of anyone (playing all but Liverpool from the 'big 6') and are still only 1 point behind us who has probably had the easiest (on paper of course). Easy to gloat now, but I bet my house that they finish above us this season. I'm sure Koeman is starting to feel the pressure and will be disappointed with how they have started. They failed to replace Lukaku and put all their eggs in the Giroud basket.
  19. Wtf are you going on about, you pedantic *****. It may help your simple mind if I rephrase it for you then. 2 very poor teams (on current form).
  20. Well that’s not true. I do however have a sense of reality and slate the club for things that aren’t so good, of which currently there are many.
  21. Has anyone ever been less excited for a game? A dull 0-0 written all over it. Why BT have chosen this game to show only they can tell you. 2 very poor teams

    Lemina!

When Arsenal get their arse in gear and sack Wenger, he'd be perfect for them. Fortunately I can't see that happening any time soon. Wouldn't surprise me if Liverpool saw him as a replacement for Can when he leaves.
  23. Really? look at Brum since he was ridiculously sacked.... He's generally been a success at every club he's been at. I don't see how you've come to the conclusion he's overrated, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

    Pellegrino OUT

Puel to Leicester... heard it here fist
  25. Good - Probably the most overrated manager out there. Cannot deny he has done well with Bmouth, where expectation are very low. But lets not forget they have spent a massive amount of money (for them) to get where they are. He wen't to Burnley and failed, I see nothing to suggest that he wouldn't do the same at any other club he goes to. He just seems to be the right man at the right club for him at the moment (Think Nigel Adkins). I'd much prefer Dyche, if I had to pick between the 2. I think Rodgers would suit us and he'd be on my shortlist. Other left field British suggestions would be Chris Wilder or Gary Rowett but both would be a massive risk - probably one for when we get relegated next season!
