Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
SKD replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
If the new owners come in and pick the new manager I will be very concerned for the future, especially given Kat has said we will keep the same infrastructure in place ect... As for LVG, I think we'd be stupid to rule him out with his success and experience (I think you should ignore his time at Utd as that looks to be a bit of a poison chalice at the moment), but I'm not sure he the the type of manager we would go for. Personally I'd be surprised if we went for LVG. -

Yep, sarcasm.... FWIW, i'm not 'ITK' just know a few people that are, who some times provide me with little snippets. I maintain, that I think we are going for a big name and if we don't, it will be because we have failed to get our first / second choice, which wouldn't be ideal. I honestly believe (I have not been told this, just my opinion) that if Emery were to be sacked by PSG, he would be our number 1 choice (I've been told he was just that in the summer) and we'd stand a very good chance of landing him. I get the impression that we had spoken to Silva, again another person we had spoken to previously, and had ruled him out for one reason or another. As for Tuchel, I really don't know about him. I would imagine he is high on the list, however if we can persuade him and/or if he and Les could have a successful working relationship is yet to be seen. If he is appointed, I would say it would be similar to the Koeman appointment. A big name to steady the ship, but not seen as long term option (for both parties). -

Another rejection from an average manager / player. The summers not looking good. #Lesout -
Gone to tories. They'll be back should it finish as the exit polls suggest. May has let UKIP voters down massively.
-
Pardon my ignorance and please correct me if this is wrong, but assuming the exit polls are accurate would that essientially mean that it'd be a minority conservative government, as Labour cannot get a majority regardless of who they go into coalition with? Whatever happens, I think May should seriously consider her position as the past couple of months have been a joke really.

VVD was a long term target and almost certainly originally sounded out by Mitchell. Cedric and Romeu came in 6 or 7 months after Mitchell moved to Tottenham. Given both were fairly unheard of at the time and the fact we bang on so frequently about how deep we look into certain players, I suspect these were on our radar as well. -

I take it he hasn't considered that if we sack Puel, compensation will be paid to Puel himself... If they pay us, Puel will lose out on compensation. -

I agree. Our recruitment since Mitchell left has been questionable, IMO. I'd argue that only Gabbi has been a success in terms of major players with question marks still over PEH and Boufal. Big window ahead for him (Wilson). -
Probably not much more than he would earn elsewhere, if the reported £180k-£200k a week offered is accurate. Plus you would have to think that he would get a signing on fee and I'm sure if x club wanted him enough, they would pay him his loyalty bonus if it meant he'd sign for them.
-
Ched Evans has been cleared of any rape charge / allegation. He is therefore innocent. Why would you be appalled if we signed an innocent man? Bit strange. If you really don't like or want us to sign players who have muddled around with another girl whilst married or in a relationship then you'd dislike half of the premier league. Actually, for that matter, you'd dislike a large % of the population
-
So are you suggesting that because it hasn't been leaked to the press, VVD or his agent hasn't indicated (whilst not officially handing in a transfer request, I must add) to the club that he wants to leave? If you are, then i'm sorry to break it to you, but you're wrong. I still expect VVD to go, but you have to give us credit as any deal will be on our terms.. they pay our price, or they don't get the player. I expect it now to be City, but still something in the back of my mind is saying that this Liverpool saga isn't over, just yet.
-
VFTT, I don't know how much you've seen of Schmidt, personally i can't say it's too much, but do you not think we'll be too open under him? From the little I have seen and read, he has little regard for his defence (we'll score 1 or 4 more than you mentality). That said, I'd love to see us play 2 up top again and I think it'd suit Gabbi down to the ground under him
-
He has, he'll go. I still maintain that I think he'll end up at Chelsea. He wants / his preference is to stay in London.
-
Disappointing if true. A deal we really should be all over. Will keep at 2 (Wagner & Semedo) until we receive any evidence to suggest we really were in for him.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if iheanacho was used as bait, if I'm honest.
-
I hope we still report them to the PL as nothing has changed. Looking at that independent report, it looks like Liverpool approached us, we said no (probably ***** off, not to you) and they've decided to leave it.... for now. Still a lot more to come on this one I suspect, but I would say City are now very much in the driving seat... match our valuation, and he's yours, pep.
-
Completely agree. I'd avoid Howe like the plague, he just seems to be the right man at the right club in Bournemouth (who as you have said, have spent a fortune when you look at the size of their club). He failed at Burnley and I really don't see the attraction. I like Dyche, he's done an amazing job. Relatively untested though and IMO not the big name we need to steady the ship after a summer of uncertainty. I see Dyche as very much a mid table manager, not the man to take us forward, IMO.
-
Think he'd do well there... Has probably got a slightly too open style, to work for us in the PL though.
-
If true, someone at the club (who has decided to leak this to the press) deserves to get the chop, likewise if we sell him to them. It is going to make us look pathetic when we finally sell him to Liverpool. I would have preferred us to keep our mouth shut. I really fear that this is just us trying to appease fans and putting on 'we won't let him go without a fight' front. We've known that VVD wanted to and was going to leave for sometime. I find it strange that it has all come out now... unless we really are ****ed off at Liverpool?
-
4 top 8 finishes in the last 4 years would suggest he doesn't though.
-
The article from the telegraph pretty much confirms that we do, as does every club. I think we are just concerned / making out we are concerned and showing a bit of fight that it appears Van Dijk has already met with Klopp and/or Liverpool. Thinking back, we don't really have a very good record in recent times when making complaints.... Clattenburg and Toby.. Lets just hope this is more favorable...
-
As we are/were pretty close to selling to Lander, I don't really see that much will change. I'm hoping that this may attract an investor who was potentially put off by the price (which I guess would be a concern in itself...).
-
 Chomp chomp chomp... too easy. I knew I could rely on you for a bite, Always
-
No matter what. His preference is to go to Liverpool however.
-
First rejected by Wagner, now rejected by Semedo. Who's next... #wecrawlon
