  1. This is true, they wore Sondico last season though (as did the Skates). Gillingham are wearing own brand kit this season. Basically Sondico (Sports Direct)'s website is conveniently about 6 months out of date.
  2. When you think about it, the fact 3 people turned up fully geared up to blow up a sporting event and the security prevented ALL of them getting in with simple gate checks should actually make us a little more confident about security - though the Stade has a gate around the perimeter with the checks happening there. The Echo reporting of the facts there is p155-poor fwiw, the BBC has a full timeline, and is clear that all 3 Stade de France bombers detonated themselves, somehow managing to kill only 4 people including them.

Switched boot colour recently - you'll notice Pelle wears the exact same boots. Though he appears to be either wearing the low version or has cut off the sock. FG soleplate: Mixed soleplate: Astro soleplate:

He's wearing Nike Mercurial Superfly by the looks of it - with a mixed soleplate in this pic - ie. some small moulded studs mixed in with old school longer metal ones. This is the FG version - all moulded/blades but that's not the soleplate in the pic above. Like I said, if it's about the stud alignment it's very difficult to track down what people are actually wearing because anyone can stick any soleplate on a boot.
  5. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
  6. Third kit and away kit links are the same above, Hatch... Nice choice of socks between each of the three options there. Also sticking with Sondico's p155-poor parks quality kit for another year.
  7. It was the complete lack of offering any kind of outlet whatsoever at Arsenal in the first Prem season back up that made me realise we could only get so far with him up top. Whilst we were outclassed all over the pitch and even the likes of Clyne were making basic errors, it was the total isolation and failure to get anything down all game long that showed he was never going to be up there with the likes of Lukaku and Benteke, purely because he just didn't make life difficult enough and didn't have the threat to drop deep and help out whilst still offering a threat up front. Compared to Lambert, Pelle's movement and ability to link in midfield and get up top to offer an option in the box is superb. He did well against Man City in the first game back up, but that match saw us playing some weird tactics and he hadn't even started the match so he had a lot more freshness than usual when he made his impact (and even in that game we suffered from his slowness in breaking upfield from defending corners a couple of times, but we also scored one because he was so late to the area and wasn't picked up).
  8. Well, you say that but Saints only overtook Stoke on that list based on everyone's upward trajectory since 2013, and they've just signed a few "name" players like Shaqiri which suggests they could overtake us again. Plus everyone else you're suggesting we've overtaken based on our 2015 figures has already got an upward trajectory ahead of ours - in fact since 2012 we've only even closed the gap on West Ham, Stoke and Villa of the 8 listed, and not overtaken anyone except Stoke (see above).
  9. Just as a heads up, seeing as I bought one of those a couple of months back, there's a postage charge and some random booking fee adding about £20 to the amount you win the auction for - plus they offer you an additional "stick it in a frame" service and an additional "pay more for a certificate of authenticity" EVEN THOUGH it comes with a signed Saints COA as part of the item description - so basically you don't need to pay extra for it (I said no and got the Saints one anyway). Oh, also the auction isn't like eBay, if you up your bid in the last two minutes it adds another 2 minutes, and then you have to wait until the end of the 2 minutes to find if anyone outbid that, at which point you get another 2 minutes to bid - this goes on until there's no new bid in the last 2 minutes. You will also want to put all of your information in early, because you have to add it all, name, address, payment details etc before it will let you bid. If you win it and say "no" to all the extra stuff you get the shirt, a Saints certificate with hologram and unique number to match the one stuck on the inside of the shirt, and a nice black box with shiny red Saints logo on it which pitches up in the post after a couple of weeks. Also don't forget if you actually want to wear these things they have last year's ridiculous sizing - God knows what the bloke who has JWP's "medium" (i.e. Youth sized) shirt is doing with it... Finally, that Shane Long shirt is VERY expensive with 9d to go compared to amount the one I got was at that point - the others have gone from between £250 and £450 and mine went up by about 30% of the total value in the last half hour, so the Long shirt is going for at least £450 based on that.
  10. He was trying to claim that it wasn't a boo-worthy performance at the same time, so not sure I agree with him. The whole thing was dire. Things that amused me from not-really-watching that (I walked in from being out just before half time and it was still on in the lounge after I'd washed up, etc): 1) Danny Higginbotham on commentary and David Prutton in the studio, not a Skate representative anywhere. 2) They were awful 3) Booing Also of note, apparently they sang "stand up if you hate ISIS" which falls somewhere between "impressive" and "moronic and deluded" depending on how you feel about the sort of people you'd expect to be singing it and why they were singing it. Though I couldn't actually hear it properly on tv at the time, I could tell they weren't singing "the Scum" for once and couldn't work out what they were saying. Being highly cynical about this, I assume "immigrants" or "refugees" didn't scan, so instead they happened upon the nearest thing to a "right answer" they could get in that situation.
  11. That would be what we call "an administrative oversight" then. i.e. no-one there bothered to think about it until they realised it was too late. No doubt they'll spin it as some crap about "having the widest audience for it" or something, but fundamentally, they forgot.
  12. Newport's current fan-owned status is indeed a response to stave off bankruptcy, but unlike some they had the sense to do it before their financial situation got unmanageable. However their default position since being re-formed after bankrupcy in 1989 is being owned by fans who are local businessmen, and the community share fundraising they've just done has come about because the local bloke with the most money who helped get them into the League lost interest and left them with a load of contract and transfer-based debts. The fans mobilised and in 2 months the debts were covered and the club has already been able to get a new manager and move up the league out of the bottom 4. The contrast with Portsmouth couldn't be greater, it took them 2 relegations and 2 admins even to consider a fan takeover.
  13. A pretty good non-geographically biased location really.

    Injury Watch

He had treatment after slipping over when changing direction, given that Netherlands have nothing to play for it's hardly a surprise that he's not been risked.
  15. Drowning out ALL singing, home and away fans, both pre-match and post-goal is a bizarre but widespread phenomenon.
  16. I've got one!
  17. Where are you based?
  18. He was completely knackered and definitely not trying to do it!
  19. Pluto back to running negative posts on the city's football forum. Haven't even read it.
  20. Quite surprised our visit to Man U isn't on tv on Jan 23rd. Everton v Swansea and Norwich v Liverpool? Ok then.
  21. Every possibility we'll be on twice as League Cup semi-finalists, which is probably why they've avoided us. By the time they choose the Feb games they'll know if we'll have been on in Jan at all or not.
  22. FWIW Rule 4.2 doesn't pertain to cancelling a loan either, only additional restrictions on an initial loan. V.4. Outside a Transfer Window the Board in its absolute discretion may: V.4.1. refuse an application; or V.4.2. grant an application and, if thought fit, impose conditions by which the Club making the application and the player shall be bound
  23. Nothing about "mutual agreement to cancel" season long loans ("Temporary Transfers") in the Prem Handbook [page 200], in fact it specifies a minimum term for it: A “Temporary Transfer” shall mean the transfer of a contract registration effected in accordance with Rules V.6 to V.10. V.6. Subject to the conditions set out below, a Temporary Transfer shall be permitted: V.6.1. between Clubs; and V.6.2. between a Club and a club in membership of the Football League, the Football Conference, the Northern Premier League, the Isthmian League and the Southern League. V.7. The conditions referred to in Rule V.6 are: V.7.1. a Temporary Transfer to a Club may not take place in the Transfer Window in which the Transferor Club acquired the Player’s registration; V.7.2. during the period of the Temporary Transfer of his contract registration a Player shall not play against the Transferor Club; V.7.3. if during the period of a Temporary Transfer the Player’s registration is transferred permanently from the Transferor Club to the Transferee Club, the two Clubs may agree in writing (to be copied to the League) that the Player shall not play against the Transferor Club for the remainder of the Season; V.7.4. subject to any conditions imposed by the Board in the exercise of its discretion under Rule V.4.2, the minimum period of a Temporary Transfer shall be the period between 2 consecutive Transfer Windows and the period of a Temporary Transfer shall not extend beyond 30th June next after it was entered into; PREMIER L LEAGUE RULES: SECTION AV 201 SECTION V: PLAYERS – TRANSFERS OF REGISTRATIONS V.7.5. the maximum number of Temporary Transfers to any one Club registrable in the same Season shall be 4 and in no circumstances shall more than 1 be from the same Transferor Club at any one time save there shall be excluded from these numbers any Temporary Transfer of the kind described in V.7.6.1 or V.7.6.2; V.7.6. not more than 2 Temporary Transfers shall be registered by a Club at the same time except that there shall be excluded from that number: V.7.6.1. any Temporary Transfer which become permanent; and V.7.6.2. the Temporary Transfer of a goalkeeper which in its absolute discretion the Board may allow in circumstances it considers to be exceptional; V.7.7. a Club may transfer the registration of no more than one of its goalkeepers by way of temporary Transfer to another Club each Season, subject to any further Temporary Transfer of one of its goalkeepers pursuant to Rule V.7.6.2; V.7.8. any other conditions agreed between the Transferor Club and the Transferee Club or, in the exercise of its discretion, imposed by the Board.
  24. Is that a thing? I didn't think we could either way once the term was agreed, until there was a transfer window. When we sent Taider back we were still in the summer window.
