  1. It's a classic BECAUSE it's bog-standard.
  2. I doubt he spends that long on his hair and makeup.
  3. I can't see Plymouth or Luton sticking around down there for too long, and Ainsworth seems to have got Wycombe going in the right direction. Then again the Skates were lower mid-table this season and there's no guarantee they won't continue to overspend on mediocrity (Tubbs seems to be a bit of an exception to that) and losing Wallace might leave them with a big old hole. Of course just signing Newport's 13 offcasts along with a decent keeper would get them to 9th AND they'd be within a £1.4m budget (though not sure whether they'd need to have a multi-millionaire with bad taste in shades to prop them up to the tune of £40k a week as part of that or additional).
  4. Cook actually might be a decent appointment. They just paid £150k in compensation and described it as "relatively small in terms of the overall budget". http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32702867 In "teams who finished miles ahead of them in 2014/15 and beat them home and away" news, Newport have gone through with their promise to reduce their budget to £900k by releasing their entire first team squad except the 4 who had a year left on their contract and the 3 kids with 3 sub appearances between them who they signed earlier in the week. Oh, and appointed Terry bloody Butcher as their manager. So that's one team the Skates won't be finishing below again in 2015/16.
  5. Just about to get interested in the video for the top being worn, and we see a shot of the bloke wearing a bog-standard Adidas firebird style tracksuit in the pic with Le Tiss. Tch.
  6. Certainly is. Tracksuit was the only thing I didn't post or mention.
  7. Training Hoodie: Polo Shirt: There's also a sleeveless version and a standard t-shirt. So we know what it'll look like, only question now is the colour... will we go for a green/navy to go with the away kit, or the red/white options Sheff Utd have used?
  8. Training Kit for Marseille Anthem Jacket: Training Top:
  9. Anyway, this is GOOD news, because I also saw a Marseille fleece thing - they have side collar zips down the side of the 3 stripe and it was pretty nice. Oh, and here's the Sheffield United one.
  10. Here are Chelsea's training shirts, expect ours to be similar. And Man Utd's, as they're with adidas next season too... And Juventus... you may see a theme emerging?
  11. I may as well start linking pics to released training kit for next season...
  12. Veho certainly think it is: http://www.veho-world.com/main/news.aspx?id=85
  13. I'd say he's about as average as it gets in the Prem, and his skillset of simple sideways passing and inability to score is pretty much the last thing we need at the moment. Plus if he was still here he'd be leaving in 2 matches for free so he'd hardly be likely to be busting a gut.
  14. Good, because it's a load of toss.
  15. I've already used the "some great holidays coming up" line if we don't make it into the Europa.
  16. So why offer him a FOUR YEAR DEAL? He's fine, if there was any doubt he wouldn't have been offered it in the first place, pretty sure we'd already fulfilled our last contractual obligation to give him a new deal a year ago, and that isn't the contract he signed.
  17. I think its highly unlikely that we'll have offered him a new contract if we weren't absolutely certain that he's going to be fully fit.
  18. Presumably that stupid, cryptic Vine (originally).
  19. I am more than aware of that, even the Cardiff match it came across as absolutely chaos and them hitting him with the ball rather than him making saves. But he has clearly improved since then. Maybe not enough to be starting at the moment.
  20. Tippy tappy crap which had only lost them one home match all season (Man U) up until last night.
  21. The numerous times he's already said it not enough for you then? Also, some of us have already bought Season Tickets for next season irrespective of where we are and what we're challenging for, never mind the last home match of this...
  22. You ignored the "with no obvious physical defects since" bit I put in the text quite nicely there. Torres has obviously fallen off the face of the earth compared to his younger self due to injuries. Though I'd have signed Torres for £4m if his wages were the same as Elia's and not the prohibitive overspend they obviously are. He's still got the possibility of some resale value at that price.
  23. To be fair to Gazzaniga, he showed in the U21s Cup Final that his all-round game had hugely improved on the last time I saw him. He was confident taking crosses in traffic, commanding of situations, good decision-making with punching and shot-stopping at that level was much better than his efforts in the Prem. He did have one moment of dodginess even in that match though. Even at Leicester he made a good stop in a one on one which (Cardiff away aside) he's never shown any indications of being able to do in the Premier League before. His sliced kick unfortunately led to a goal and that's a stick to beat him with even though by the time the shot came, it was from an unmarked striker 10 yards out with the whole goal to aim at and he had little chance of stopping it. Neither Kelvin nor Forster would have got the first one in the corner either. He could probably do with a season at a Championship side to see if his improvement translates into first team football, but even with Gazzaniga's improvement taken into consideration, I think we're at a strange place to be playing back-up goalie roulette with the European place at stake.
  24. Not really. £3-4m is an absolute bargain for a player good enough to play in a World Cup Final for a team good enough to get to a World Cup Final and with no obvious physical defects since which would reduce his ability to reach those levels again, and if we have an academy player capable of doing that, we haven't seen it yet. McQueen did well in the U21s game, but he's facing other U21s, not top Prem players. It's a massive difference, which can be seen already by Gallagher's impact in the Prem last season compared to U21s games. Elia has shown his abilities against Prem sides sporadically but is at least worth bringing in permanently IF we intend on gradually improving the squad. Personally I think Josh Sims could be excellent, but his obvious ability in U21s (up from U18s) again doesn't necessarily translate, and he might need to increase his physical presence to be able to have such an impact in the big league.
  25. Massive looming increase in Prem cash, might be better to buy this summer compared to next. No idea why you'd want to sell Long. He's clearly a moneyball signing, identify the players you want and buy them when they're available. He's not played up front much so can't be judged on his goalscoring, and the last goal we scored at home was set up by him doing something we've been sorely lacking, an early ball into Pelle's head in the box.
