  1. He's not going to the U21s Championships?
  2. Really disappointed with Bertrand today, always took the backwards option and nothing threatening him down that side all match but he just didn't do anything. Other than that, thought we were solid all over the pitch after a slow start, but my God do we need to take our chances, because we don't create many.
  3. I had a fiver on JWP for first scorer today, as it happens. My only first scorer bet of the season, my only ever bet on Ward-Prowse too - thanks to Koeman and Fonte for getting the ball off Mane...
  4. Nope. Callum Wilson is doing ok but we don't need to be taking those kind of gambles any more, Arter seems ok, the rest of the team are decent Championship players or borderline Prem cases (Surman for instance, much as I like him), and their keeper's a nutter who we shouldn't touch with a fift... oh.
  5. I have got it, yeah. It hasn't got all the goals on it though it's the full recording. It's got all mine on it though...
  6. Nearly as good as my volley against Watford. From the keeper's kick out. And 20 yards further out than yours.
  7. Flat back 4...
  8. Mm, I can't say I think Schneiderlin has been anything other than completely professional.
  9. I don't think he'll get forward much, probably designed to shut down their left sided overlap.
  10. Not like for like, but if (and it's not confirmed) we play 3 at the back we've already changed formation.
  11. Much as I don't think he should be dropped, we do have the opportunity to play Long/Mané up top in a different style if needs must, and today would have been one of those opportunities. But if you're not picking your leading scorer at home to a bottom 6 team you have other problems.
  12. Yeah, daft handball by Coleman, who was probably shoved first.
  13. He's played all but 1 match, get over it.
  14. Won't know til they line up, would be very surprised if Koeman has stuck with 2 DMs if he doesn't have something planned tactically. I see Hull are starting with Aluko and N'Doye, which suggests they may be a bit more attacking than usual...
  15. Or Alderweireld at RB as some have said above. No obvious RWB in the team (Davis possibly but not really his position), so could be.
  16. Interesting team, looks like a back 3 with the 2 DMs in front, more than one way to offset your need to be solid at the back I guess...
  17. Much as I want to directly link to the greatest goal ever scored at Dean Court, Facebook no longer lets me, so you'll just have to click here instead:
  18. Good to see John Terry has the handwriting of a ten year old girl, anyway.
  19. You can get TSN from running Mobdro directly on Android (and a few other channels). Works on a Note 3, dunno about anything else.
  20. I think he's getting across them plenty, but mainly into positions where he can't score, which is as pointless as not doing it at all. How many times this season have you seen him shinning the ball off the pitch from the near-edge of the six yard box? He does it on average about once a match.
  21. Just a heads up now Juventus' new Adidas shirt for next season is out - a bit of zig zag in the detail on the stripes and a plain white back for those wondering what we might wear in Europe...
  22. I guess we won't get any more "you need to sell" transfer fee deflation than we will anyway...

    Perry Groves

That's up there with that Lambert/Billy Sharp quote from that bloke on here, what was his name?
  24. The problem with the impending Schneiderlin transfer is that everyone knows we're selling, and that we'll want to replace him, so we'd rather sell quickly to help firm up our transfer budget. Often when there's an influx of money from a new tv deal you get prices creeping up as the summer goes on, other benchmark fees are set, and clubs get used to the new level of transfer costs - if you sell early you run the risk of getting in before the inflation starts - though equally you can buy early and potentially avoid it too. I don't think we'd get £35m for him at last summer's prices, who knows what might happen with the new tv money washing around every club though.
  25. Interesting, WhoScored has him down as giving the ball away approximately 4 times a match, a combination of being in possession and losing it without dribbling and unforced control errors. That doesn't seem much to me (though I haven't got comparison stats for others to hand today) and they list lay-offs as one of his strengths based purely on the stats. Not sure his composure is the issue, he never seems to have much time on the ball and with the exception of the airshots (of which I accept there are numerous), most of my problem with his finishing is that he's either in poor positions to score from to begin with because they're the only places we pass it to him, or when he isn't, he wafts a poor contact too often. If he's got 2 CBs tracking him all match, the opportunities to get a pass into feet in the box are going to be very restricted, which is why I think he keeps getting passes in positions when he can't do much with it. I suspect the same problem would arise for Mane or Long if they were in the same role. But fundamentally he's both mobile enough and moving enough to get in those positions to miss them. It's his finishing itself I'm not liking at the moment.
